I can't possibly be the only writer who's going to put himself through this. Can I???

I'd like to meet others in Hong Kong who are writing their book at breakneck speed and perhaps share ideas, critique each other's stuff and even get together for Sunday Dim Sum to compare notes.

I know you're out there Hong Kong. I can hear you breathing.

Well, you know, I'm not really sure there's a collective name for people here now that I think of it. I guess Hong Kongers. But, if there were a vote taken I'd go with "Hongkies".

Hongkies? *laughs* That's... Um... Okay, then. :D Sounds like a slur on Americans, ya know? Or something you'd use after a sneeze... :)

Well, yeah, kind of a play on words but it doesn't have to have the same connotation here :-)

Hi!

We breathe? Why didn't anyone tell me?! =^P

Check out the Asia: China forum for the HK thread: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/1018429 . We're planning a write-in. Oh, and if you get on MSN or Skype, we're on there, too, so we can do write-ins with the rest of China.

Btw, the term is usually either "Hongkies" or "Hong Kongers". Strange and silly, but there you go. (^_^)

What's up, fellow Honker(s)!

I'm not sure I'll actually progress much, eh. I'm still in school and I have loads of tests/assignments, etc. But writing for the win! I'll definitely try again this year :)

As for writing my book at breakneck speed? I wish.

Snitchcat, thanks for letting me know. Even though I intellectually know Hong Kong is a part of China, it wasn't for so much of my life that I think I'm still conditioned to it being its own country or something. :)

I'll direct all Hongkies in your general direction in the future. :)

Wow, thanks. I come from HK, not living there now so can't attend write-ins, but I've always wondered about the lack of HK threads in this area XD I still think of it as a country in itself even though I should know better :P Anyways, good luck to all HK...-ers.
