Are there any writers in Falls Church who would like to meet occasionally or more often at Panera's or Starbucks or wherever?

I'm in Annandale. Seems we're a little thin on the ground 'round these parts, aren't we?

I'm assuming you mean the Panera's on Leesburg Pike, next to Best Buy?

I'd be available on a weeknight(s) from 7 to 9-or-10ish.

I'll be at Panera's with my Alphasmart at 7 pm tomorrow (11/1) getting the month off to a good start. If anyone decides to join me, we can discuss later meeting times and places.

I live near the Pentagon, but I'd be willing to go to Falls Church and write. I just need directions to wherever you're talking about.

I'm in Falls Church/Merrifield and was hoping for people closer. Anytime after 6:30 works for me. I can be there Thursday. How can I find you?

I'm in Falls Church/Merrifield too. This is a dumb question -- but what's an Alphasmart?

I'll be at Panera at 7 pm on Thursday too -- how will we recognize each other?

I'm in the McLean/Tyson's area & I meet up with the Dulles NaNo group, but if anything in my area comes up (nothing too Tyson's-y, too much traffic :P) I'd love to come

I'm here in McLean, and I'm free Friday afternoons and evenings, some Saturday evenings, if anybody wants to get together and write. I can't wait till we can start posting!!

The address for Panera's, if anyone wants to get directions from mapquest, is: 5857 Leesburg Pike, Bailey's Crossroads, VA 22041

Leesburg Pike is also called Route 7 (and becomes King St. to the east in Alexandria, W. Broad St. to the west in Falls Church).

Coming from the east, Panera's is just past Columbia Pike, on the left side of the street (there's a traffic light with two left turn lanes and a left turn signal). It's right on the corner in the same strip mall as Best Buy. Borders is across the street.

Coming from the west, it's on the right side of the street several miles down from Route 50

I'll have a lime-green NaNoWriMo sign so anyone who shows up can find me. Also, I have blonde hair and will be wearing jeans and either a turquoise T-shirt that says "I'd rather be writing" on the back (if it's warm) or a purple sweatshirt (if it's cold).

Oh, and an Alphasmart is a terrific little word processor.

I can get together on weekends, but I am sadly unavailable weeknights. I'm happy to go to Panera on a weekend, though... any takers?

Hi Gail -- It's Brenda! Emmy and I both started our novels last night. We are writing at my house on Thursday nights. Want to join us?

It was just Gail and I this past Thursday. We met at 7 and I think we'll both be back this week? I know I will and I actually get there a little after 6. I'm available to meet other nights though, any but Wednesday. I don't get nearly as much done when I sit by myself.

I would be up for Panera's on Tuesday. I have been out of town for work and got a little behind, so I need to catch up this week. Need all the peer pressure I can get!

I'm going to try to meet you all at Panera's tomorrow at 7. Will I be able to tell who you all are?

I actually can't make it tonight. My paying job is kicking my butt this week, but I plan on being there Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday next week. Probably from about 6:30 until 9ish. If anyone needs company I'll be there with a notebook, somewhere toward the front and I'll most likely be wearing a knit cap and a hoodie.

Penny, an Alphasmart is a word processor popular with writers, though it is mostly used in schools. They are lighter, smaller, more rugged, and less expensive than laptops. Mine is a "Dana" with a touch screen, and it can go for 25 hours on a couple of AA batteries. The keyboard has an exceptionally nice feel compared with most laptops I've tried. Just about all it can do is word processing, but that's all I need. I bought mine cheap on eBay.

By the way, you and I went to elementary school together at Springfield Estates! Maybe we'll run into each other sometime. Hope your writing is going well.

I'm in the Southern Towers complex, next to I395 and drive past the Panera's several times a week.
Is anyone going to be there the next few days?
