Hi, Anyone from Somerset out there? The land of the best cricket team and the best cider, (see NaDruWriMo!!) I'm originally from Central Somerset but now living in Suffolk. This is my second naNo year and, hopefully, I'm better prepared. My story, incidently, is largely set in Glastonbury!

I'm in sunny Shepton Mallet (closer to the Glastonbury Festival than Glastonbury is *grin*) - it seems there are no other Somerset writers around (though i must admit I only qualify as Somerset because I live here now - there's West London, most of the south of England, Nottingham, Alberta Canada and Perth Australia all whispering "go on, say you're from here!").

Hey LadyKayla, just had a look at your profile and see you are a denizen of the Discworld! Have you been out to The Cunning Artificer's Discworld Emporium in Wincanton? If not you'll love it !

I'm in Wincanton proper, here. *g* Former Midlander, just moved down here this summer, and I live just down the road from The Cunning Artificer (and yes, I'm a Discworld fan). I'm in love with their adorable ginger cat. :D

Hi Triala. Bernard is an old friend of mine. I usually come down to Somerset once a month and pop in to see him and Isobel. Incidently many people have thought the cats were part of the window display when they've been sleeping there in the sunshine.

I'm originally a Somerset girl! Wells born and bred, to be exact.
Sadly, however, I'm on the other side of the country for University, so I can't count myself among your lovely group. Ahh well, I'm with you in spirit!

Five days to go, so let's show them what we can do. If you're nearly there, then one big push will do it. If you've still got a long way to go, remember, keep writing! That's what it's all about.
Here be the best to'ee!

Well we made it to the end, brilliant! I'm sure there must be more Somerset NaNo writers out there so, let's encourage our friends for next year. Also don't forget Script Frenzy in June. Don't worry if you've never written a script before, I hadn't until last year! It's great fun and I found it very helpful for learning how to use dialogue to drive the plot along.
----------Anyway, it don't matter if you'm Somerset born an' bred or if you'm a foreigner living there, you'm Somerset!! Remember Tommy Bannerman o' the Wurzels. 'E were a Scot but now 'e be naturalised Somerset an' hav even learned how to talk proper.
All the best to you with your writing.
God bless.

Well a week has gone by so I hope you are all on the road to recovery from your efforts! I shan't be around so much now but I will be checking my NaNoMail from time to time so if anyone wants to drop me a line please feel free to do so.
----------For those who are able, don't forget the Hogwatcth festivities in Wincanton. A good time is guaranteed.
