Ok, so every year Halloween is upon us right before November 1st. You'd think we would have gotten the hang of it by now.
For those who plan to trick, treat, or stay home and starting writing at midnight, we salute you. The rest of us are still trying to figure out our plot (what plot?) and plan how to fit 50,000 words into an absurdly short amount of free time.
Let's get together to celebrate, say hello and (of course) WRITE. I figured I'd wait till the weekend since our weather is bad news today (and probably tomorrow, too). This is the perfect "It was a dark and stormy night" opening line type weather. That doesn't make sense, does it? Well, it doesn't have to! It's (almost) November!
So join us for our 2007 NaNoWriMo Palm Beaches Kick-Off Party and Maybe We'll Do Some Writing Event
DATE: Saturday, November 3rd
TIME: 4 PM - 5 PM Socializing & 5 - 7 PM Writing (later if the the writing spirit continues to move you)
PLACE: Panera Bread on Village Boulevard (this is right off Palm Beach Lakes Blvd about 3-5 minutes from I-95)
Hope to see you all there - bring your fully charged laptops (but there are outlets at this location - and I'll bring the plug strip!). I have goodies from NaNo years past (stickers and stuff) to get you in the mood, and we'll just chat a bit, and then spend some time WRITING.....really......I promise.
Please post an RSVP if you plan to attend so I have a head count for goodies. If we don't have enough peeps to make this time or place, let me know where you are all located and I can plan future events closer to our most active folks.
Krista

I’ll be there.
I may be penning it this year unless I can get that old laptop up and running ... probably should have gotten to that before today but alas, I didn’t.
(However, should the hubby feel so inclined as to let me “borrow” one from our office *eehheemmm* then no worries.)
Save me a sticker & a spot on that plug strip, as I may need both to keep the old notebook going ;)

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it there, but I'll post an RSVP just in case. I'm doing NaNoWriDay as well, and Saturday is when I happen to be doing it (mostly because I'm not sure if I'll be able to write 50,000 words tomorrow unless school is canceled on some off chance). I'm *hoping* to carry through with it, but if I give up hope before the party starts, I'll try to come. :D
Hope to see you guys!

I'll be attending the meet-up on Sat. This is my first attempt at WriMo in about 5 years...
I actually have a coherent idea this time! Hopefully the vets can give me some pointers.

I'm going to try my hardest to get my mom to take me there, but our laptop broke recently, so I guess I'll use pen and paper and type later... however horrific that concept may seem. Heh.
Smiles!

I don't know if I can make it. My mom and roommate both work (roommate works at home though) so we'll have to see what happens. Plus I do not have a laptop. Woe is me. I don't like my own handwriting, and my hand hurts when I write for too long, but if it is possible to make it out today, I will do my best to get there! But I'm not promising anything, in terms of showing up. :/

Okay, I'm here at Panera Bread early because my dad and older brother had to go to work, so they just dropped me off. And now I'm wondering... how am I going to know when y'all come? Do I just look for a bunch of people carrying laptops? And where should I sit? I'm presently huddled up in a corner typing away and terrified out of my mind because I hate being alone in strange places (heh heh). If you need to find me, I'm wearing a tan Writing.com shirt and a blue scarf (the scarf is my writing totem, if you've read the No Plot? No Problem! book, you'll know what I mean.)
Okies, see y'all soon!!

LaLa - We found you, didn't we? Of course, after about 4:30, it was hard to miss us. Unfortunately, the forums were near impossible to get to, as the site was in crash mode yesterday.
Thanks to all who came out - what a great bunch of writers we have this year!!!! I think we had about 15+ people last night. Panera was nice to us, too....free refills (woot!).
I am putting a plug strip in my trunk now (yes, I have guilt) so that I don't forget it for the next write in. But hey, I remembered the tattoos.....
Speedy noveling, y'all -
