Anyone fancy meeting up for coffee next week? I'd suggest the 9th or perhaps a Saturday?

I propose:

Date: 9/11 or 10/11
Venue: Amcorp Starbucks/MPH 1Utama or MPH MidValley/Marcos Pizza (near Kelana LRT)
Time: After work 6.30pm onwards (if on a Friday) or at tea-time (4-6pm if on a Saturday)

Votes? Suggestions? Come on, let's commiserate over coffee/tea/snacks.

I'll be up for it at 1U on Fri or Sat.

Never been to a meetup though. What do you do there?

MPH 1U would work out nicely for me. Doesn't matter if it's friday or saturday.

if I can get my parents to let me go, and if I can drag my 2 NNWM friends along, I'll go. *g* As long as no one minds a bunch of 16 year olds. We're very... 16-ish.

Oooh, ouch. Just checked with the parents--apparently I'm going to see "Chicago" the musical on the 10th of November at 2 or 3 pm or something. And sorry, I'd choose a musical over you guys. *g*

I was at IKEA Cafe this morning for a writing breakfast, and expect to be there again tomorrow morning (and most mornings this month). If anyone is free and in the neighbourhood, please come and join me. It will be a write-in, so please bring your NaNo machine (laptop, or pen and paper). I'll be the one with a "Speak n Spell" on the table.

Are you at Ikea Cafe only on weekday mornings? What time are you usually there? :)

Yes, usually on weekday mornings, because I have things to do on weekends. Besides, weekends are overflowing there!

I'm usually there before 10 a.m., to get the free coffee.

OOh Gathering! This sounds fun! However im thinking of parking problems if you go to One Utama at 3.30pm. Blah. ANd i hate looking for parking. Isnt morning better? Like 11am or something? But yes i understand its hard to accomodate everyone. But anyhow its still a great idea, pick a time and place and i'll try to be there =b

I'd love to go to the meeting, but I'm starting to work in Borders this Monday (5/11). And I'll most probably only be free from 6.30pm onwards, and prefer places like MPH MidValley and Amcorp Starbucks where it's near.

So sorry if this will be an inconvenience to everyone.

Which Borders are you in? The Curve? Well, let's move the venue and meet there then.

It's actually in Times Square. I'll be there until mid-November and then will be transferred to The Gardens' new branch. I live in Bangsar, which is why Amcorp and MidValley are the closest place to me.

8th would be good as it's a public holiday. Go somewhere where the crowd won't be -Starbucks Centerpoint (Bandar Utama). Those not driving can hitch a free ride from the U-Pod (shuttle bus going to 1U from Kelana Jaya LRT station), which will drop by Centerpoint on the way back. Taxi from Kelana Jaya/Taman Bahagia will set you back about rm 6-7. Or we could car pool.

Another possible venue would be Starbucks KLSentral, like we did last time.

Mornings would be good. About 10?

EDIT: Here are some other great venues (for future gatherings):

+ Marmalade, Plaza Mont Kiara - Superbly cozy place, just moved to new location with more space.

+Coffee Club Xpress, Kinokuniya KLCC - A relatively overlooked cafe tucked away on the mezzanine floor.

+Swensens on a Tuesday - Because it's Earthquake Tuesday! (50% off Earthquakes).

OK that's all for now.

OI HEADACHE

BTW, you're all stuck with me for the month because (insert evil laughter): I'm your Municipal Liaison a.k.a babysitter/agony aunt/event organiser/cat herder.

First, we'll have an event we call the Kickoff/official starter meeting.

Then we'll have a few writeins: meaning you, your laptop/book and we'll just get together to write for a couple of hours. So if you can't make it to the kickoffs, then come hang out at a writein.

Or you can do what Chet does: tell you where she's writing and extend an open invitation to come hang out and write together.

OK, I propose the FIRST meeting/kickoff on the 8th of November 2007:
10.30am onwards at Starbucks Amcorp Mall or KLCC
If you can't make it for that one, come for the writeins.

I propose a few dates:
15/11 - Thursday night at Amcorp
17/11 - Saturday Morning at 1U/Centerpoint
23/11 - Friday Night cuppa at Amcorp/KL Sentral
24/11 or 25/11 - Writeins! The final crush to countdown!

And the first week of December will be the KICKOFF PARTY! :D

It's all about solidarity, folks. So you'll remember you're not alone in this act of madness!

Hello Malaysia!

Just popping in from Singapore to let you know that if any of you are over here at the weekends you're most welcome to come join us at the Arts House from 3-5pm. Feel free to PM me for any further info.

Happy novelling!

'Ello,

I think the 8th is a good day, and will be there barring any unforseen circumstances.

Either venue is fine. Amcorp might be easier as parking wont be a problem there.

See ya then.

Zk.
