Albany has begun it's NaNoWriMo! Though honestly, I'm probably the only one who started as of midnight. Guess that's what I get for being a late-night kind of guy, huh?
Oh well. Here's wishing everyone the best for their novels! Let's get this party started!

I started too, and am deciding that at 1581 words for my first night, I am gonna call that a good start and go to bed.
Good Luck to you!!!!!!!!!!

My first twelve words are down, down deep within their digital haven. There they await my return from work and their 1655 cousins, anon. The marathon of words has begun.

*groan* I stayed up so I could say I did, and that's about it. I got 260 words last night. I *used* to be a nightowl...*groan* Halloween sugar hangover, too. Where were all the kids?
But you are all over 1000! That's great! Keep going!
BTW, if you want to use the word counters beside your name, go to "edit profile" (the in the second row of clicky choices up at the top right of each page). Under "edit" there will be two choices: account settings and author info. Click on "author info." Scroll down to "novel info." There you can enter the name of your novel, its genre, your word count as it increases (you can edit this every day! Yay!) and a short excerpt of your novel should you desire. If you bookmark that page and name it "word count," you can get there next time without going through all the clicks and waiting for the site to respond. *grin*
When you enter your word count there, your writing progress shows in the bar next to your name on all your posts.

Whee! On the downhill side of day One and taking a little break at 3182. Will probably rest my hands and brain for a bit before trying to bust out another 1500 or so.
Be good to your bodies, gang. Take breaks, stretch, look away from the monitor every twenty minutes or so. Trust the Nano-veteran on this one. Don't get stove up with preventable injuries.

Well, I'm off to a rather slow start this year. I've only started an hour and a half ago (around 9:30 pm on the 1st), and I've managed about 1045 words.
That however is all I am going to get done tonight, because even as I type I am falling asleep. I will just have to kick it into over drive tomorrow, when I don't have to do a full days worth of writing for a newsletter article.
Happy Writing!
