I have a monastic military order, figuring somewhat prominently in my novel. The religion is somewhat based off of Greek Mythology, and I was thinking of the form of the name as The Order of... something.
I hope that wasn't too vague, and that you can help me. Thank you in advance Nanowrimites!

The Order of...well, you could use one of the greek gods, they're the ones not named after the planets I think...so it's not Jupiter, it's Zeus, and so on. I don't know if that helps much, but they could be...um...dangit! Which one is Mercury named after? *looks it up* right, Hermes. He's the messenger of the gods, and they could claim that their messengers from the gods or something. I don't know though. Just an idea.

Hmmm. Generally, a priestly order will be named after a sacred place (historical example: The Poor Knights of the Temple of Jerusalem), or some facet of their duty that makes them unique (The Knights Hospitaller).
Given this framework, an order of warriors dedicated to the goddess Athena might be:
The Athenian Brotherhood
The Guardians of the Parthenon
The Knights of the Sacred Grove (olives are precious to Athena)
or
The Lodge of the Strategists
The Knights of the Bright-Eye (Athena was known as glaukopis (γλαυκώπις), or "Bright Eyed.")
Hope this helps
