Why are you blocked today? :D

Me, I can't write because, um...because...ah, because Japan doesn't have caffienated peppermints. Therefore writing is impossible.

Post your excuses and let other people kick your butt for a while.

Does Japan have mint? Does it have coffee/tea/cola? You are a winner then!

I'm actually feeling quite good on my writing schedule, but the reason I can't be writing is I have two more English classes to teach before I can go home and get back to the NaNo time. That, and I can't listen to music here which usually helps with writing.

1. I had a cold yesterday.

2. I just got the Daft Punk live album and all I want to do now is dance.

That said I have made a modest start at least and have nothing on my schedule for the next three days other than writing time. Gambarimasu yo!

1. I feel like I need to produce something that I can show my dad. This means it needs to be PG and not dark.

2. I have three stories I want to finish, but I don't know which to write. I started one that is my Arthurian legend because it came to me in a dream, but I feel like I'm A) Cheating (the outline is already there, I just fill in the blanks) and B)I feel my writing is poor and stupid because of the already modern great versions, ahem "Once and Future King" and ahem "Mysts of Avalon". The second is a vampire story but it's too dark to show my parents, and the third story is PC but I have no outline :(

I don't know what to do >.< *cries*

Well, I can't help you decide which story you want to do, but if you write out an outline for the third story you might be able to see if it sparks your interest or not. Once you get that spark, the writing should come pretty quickly. As for the Arthurian story, really, what hasn't been done or done well? If that was the case then what's the point of writing a novel anyway? Just have fun with it if that's what you want to do!

The big thing is just to enjoy what you write and to not stress to much about the parameters.

Ugh. I am already behind because I got sick. My coworkers have such a work ethic that they don't take sick leave even when it's obvious that they are at the prime of their viral cold and horribly contagious. They wear those health face masks but it doesn't do jack, everyone still all gets sick. I took sick leave today--there's no way I'm going in there and getting reinfected when I already feel like crap.

But yeah, not so conducive to novel writing. I really need to get better so I can write (not to mention do my job... but that's not as important right? ;D)

Seraphim- Don't worry about showing your dad! Write whatever you want, and then tell him it's not finished until eternity.

I'm blocked now and maybe forever, because I've just realized one unavoidable fact:

Your readers read what you've written, not what you've INTENDED to write.

Err... I con't write because Nova went bankrupt and I have to search for a new job and do the training! Really, it was so inconsiderate of them to announce bankruptcy in time for November. :P Still managed 5000 words so far...

Let's see....job schedule which means i have to get up at 500 am to write for two hours before work this week. We'll see how long THAT lasts. Also, I have to be out of my apartment by the end of February (it's being demolished) and I have yet to look at any new places.

Oh man, NOVA?? I really feel for you...

I can't write because I had budgetted myself time on the weekend specifically for writing, after dancing in a festival (and all the last minute preparations that entailed), and then my computer died abruptly Sunday morning.

I have a new computer now, but I'm back at work, and nothing saps the creative energies from my brain like being in a kindergarten on a rainy day when the kids are trapped inside.

Booooo!

My girlfriend didn't visit this weekend. That's all I've got.

NOVA. Holy crap.

I started four days late because I was trying to convince myself that I wasn;t going to do NaNoWriMo this year because my schedule was too swamped. Now, I'm doing it anyway and I have the beginning, I know how to end it, I just can't write all the crap in the middle. Add upcoming birthdays, friends coming over, going to friends houses, school, and generally not being in control of how I spend my time. And I STILL decided to do it...

It's now the seventh here and I only have just under 2500 words... I'm really behind schedule in my word typing up, and I'm terrified I won't even begin to catch up unless I lock myself in my room every night.

That, and I don't really have a handle on this "ending" malarkey.

Hmm... My excuse? Sleep deprivation!!! ^^ Yup, I went three nights with almost no sleep, and on Monday I fell asleep at the keyboard and only managed to type 1000 of my daily 2000 words that morning. And now I'm up too late, attempting to get another 1000 done for my quota for today PLUS the leftover 1000 from yesterday.... So the sleep excuse might last me a while.

I can't write, mostly due to lack of time because I'm a student. I'm only at about half the word count I should have, I have to re-write a letter for tomorrow using keigo, I have to find time to sit in the computer lab and listen to two weeks of conversations, I have to turn in my grammar homework, I have to write two seven-page papers (if I remember right) and possibly even three. Then again, I've already given up homework time to do writing, but it didn't help that out school's festival was on Nov 2nd and 3rd, and I was teaching an english lesson and I've joined a club. And I have to keep up with my friends and meet my speaking partner every week.

*breathe* That actually felt good. However, I was insane to come to school in Japan. If colleges here are considered easy, I don't think I ever want to see what a high school is like.

Wow. Scratch me looking at colleges in Japan. I don't live there, but I love it's culture, and if I could live there, I would.

I'm proud of myself today. In the last twenty-four hours, I've practically tripled my word count.

You know, I had a thought- maybe NaNoWriMo should be in the summer months when there's no school, haha. I've sacrificed quite a bit of homework time for this. I suppose it's not so bad because I'm home schooled, but I have been getting angry e-mails from my teachers T_T

It's not that bad being here, but it is busy. It might just be my school, though, because I've only been to one school so far. I don't want to discourage anyone from studying abroad. But I think in order to do everything on time, you only get some 6 hours of sleep a night, which I can't do for any length of time. Things would be just about perfect if I was only taking half as many classes as I am now. Or lived closer to school.

My new excuse: Im stuck in a school office all day today where the keyboard resuses to type text documents without replacing romanji with Japanese characters!

Yosakoi?
Just curious.
I can write, but my writing is on another computer, and I can't update my wordcount until I check again to see what it is. Numbers stay in my head for about 3 seconds at a time...

*waves at fellow kindergarten teacher*

I had to work yesterday, and Gifu knit club (stitch-and-bitch type group that's been on a 6-month hiatus) started again so of course I needed to cast on a new project ready for Tuesday's meeting, so I only got 1000 words done since thursday.
