Okay, so I know I'm not the only person way the heck out in the boonies (actually, I'm on the cusp of the boonies, but who's keeping track?) so even though the Grant/Campbell location is semi-decent, I've been looking for something a little closer to home.
There is a coffee shop on Orange Grove/Thornydale called Cutter's Point and it is a fabulous little place and the gals that run it are very much into helping groups in the area. If I can get something set up, would anyone other than myself be interested in attending? I can do evening write-ins every day of the week except for Tuesdays and they are open until 9pm Monday thru Friday.
Can't remember their hours on the weekend. I'll find out and add it to this post later.
I work just down the street at Sportsman's Warehouse so I can even dash down on lunch breaks if need be but 10-15 minutes away from home is much better than closer to half an hour with all the alternate streets and such we have to take while the interstate is constipated...
Anybody game?

I'd be game. I don't know when though, so let me know what you've got in mind. It'd be nice to meet other writers in the area. I only live about ten minutes away from orange grove and thorny dale, so it'd be convenient anyhow. Hopefully someone else'll be interested as well.

I live at Ina and La Cholla and think a smaller group closer to home would be great. I agree the Grant/Campbell location isn't bad and I'll certainly be at some of those write-ins, but adding one or two during the week would be fine with me. I need all the support and encouragement I can get.

Orangle Grove/Thornydale is a straight shot down River Rd from me, so I'm interested, as well. (Where's the coffeeshop in relation to the AM/PM gas station - that's my big landmark in the area - is it in the plaza w/ the Wendy's?)
We're brewing a more or less standard write-in at the Black Rose on Monday nights, but that leaves at least 4 other lonely nights in want of a write-in.
Also, daytime, the 12th (Veteran's Day) might be fun...

Cutter's Point is located across Thornydale from Wendy's. Its the building with the Subway and a little Sprint office. There's a big furniture-type store behind it with really overpriced stuff inside. XD
I'll go chat up the ladies tomorrow morning when I go in to work at 7am *gags* and see if I can set anything up. Glad to see there are at least a few others interested. Once you try CP, there's no going back.
They even have free wi-fi for those of us needing to give our tired little fingers a break from marathon typing. And hella good chai tea. *gurgles happily*
Will keep ya'll posted!

Okay, here are the hours of business at Cutter's Point:
Monday-Saturday = 5AM to 9PM
Sunday = 7AM to 6PM
Pretty wide range of times, if you ask me. Not quite the 24 hour wonderfulness of Coffee Exchange, but I think we can get some good stuff in sometime during those time frames.
Now, for the poll!
Which day of the week should the write-in(s) be, and what times? Once I have that, I can tell/talk to the manager and reserve the seats. Don't know about discounts yet. I'll see what I can do.
Personally, I vote for Wednesdays in the evening because its one of my days off and I just tend to write better the later in the day it is. XD I could also do Thursdays in the evenings. Fridays are iffy because my schedule never seems to stay concrete.
Anybody else?

I could do Wednesday's but I have school till 6:30, so I'm a bit more limited. I'm open on Fridays and weekends all day too, if anyone else likes that idea. So I suppose I can make it whenever for varying lengths of time. Wow, I'm not much help, am I?

Just popping in to say "hi" to all the other NW side writers.
----------I'm off La Cholla and Overton, not too far from the Tucson Mall and I've been to Cutters - good coffee.
Probably won't make a write-in though. I don't work on a laptop for one thing, and it's a bit of a struggle to find the time to write (Nov is just a busy month for me). If I take the time to run out for coffee, I'm not writing.
But...... will check back to see what's in the works. It would be fun to meet other people insane enough to be attempting to do this.
A little ignorance goes a long way.

Okay, this'll probably flop tonight, but for those of you who live on spur-of-the moment, I'm going to be doing a northwest side write-in tonight (Wednesday) at the Cutter's Point I've mentioned in earlier posts. I will be there for all three hours from 6-9pm and hopefully one or two of you will notice this post and see what the place is all about.
Since I didn't get much feedback as far as which days to reserve for the write-ins, but knowing that we need a mid-week write-in and that a weekend one wouldn't hurt, I'm going to go ahead and made plans with the manager for Wednesdays and Saturdays from 6-9pm.
Hope to see some familiar faces!

AGAIN, I will be reserving space at Cutter's Point on WEDNESDAYS and SATURDAYS from 6PM to 9PM.
If you would like directions on how to get there or if you get lost, you can call me Atlantis/Amanda at 520-591-3064. Cheers!

And, I must revise my earlier claim.
Wednesdays are still go, but Saturdays seem to get booked often for fundraisers and such, so we're bumping over to Friday nights from 6-9pm instead. Savvy?
And, for any interested, an unofficial write-in can be done on Thursdays, too. The gals here love the idea of NaNo and they are more than willing to set aside space for us.
Anyone still game for this side of town?

Oh, do try! Its very nice and I could give very easy-to-follow directions. Pretty much, if you can get to River Rd. with relative ease from where you are, its almost a straight shot.
But yes, Friday! Hopefully you'll have nothing to do and can join me and (if there are any) my compatriots...

The hot chocolate was most excellent, too.

Sorry I haven't made it to any of the recent write-ins! I've been writing my ass off regardless, and I just now got to upload all the stuff I've done in the last week or so. But I'm down for another write-in this Wednesday if everyone else is. I'll even try to crack 50k then, or sooner if it suits my situation. Hopefully I'll see you all there.

I'm up here too, and just signed up today. Writing at other locations is not really my cuppa, as I'mspoiled by being able to write all day three days a week, and also by my ergonomic keyboard. On my laptop I'm quite clumsy now. But I'd be willing to come up one night a week, maybe Tuesdays. Will anybody be there tomorrow night? What time?

No worries, Ashleen. The nicest thing about write-ins is that they aren't required and people won't talk badly about you when you're not there. We all understand that real life happens and intrudes, which is why NaNo is such an invigorating challenge.
Hope you can make it to a write-in at least once. Its nice to have fellow wrimos supporting you, supporting them, and cranking out the word counts. =)
