I'm skeptical, but is anyone here located in the Shikoku area? I'm in Ehime-ken, but an extremely rural part of the prefecture that's close to Kochi.

Ryan - I'm in Imabari city. Well, technically speaking. I'm actually located on the island of Hakatajima in the middle of the Seto Inland Sea. Where are you? Have we met? (How could we not have?)

It seems like we must have met, but maybe not often. I'm way down in the far Southern tip of Ehime. If you look at a map, there's a tiny peninsula in the very South that juts into the sea and sort of looks like the Iberian peninsula (Spain / Portugal).

Hows island life? Are you also a new JET?

Island life is good! Slow, but good, that is.

I'm not a new JET. I started last year - so this is my second year. I think I'll stick around for a third at the moment, though you never know how plans will change.

I've only been down to the southern part of Ehime twice, and never quite as far as you are. :-) I'm sure we'll bump into each other at a conference or meeting sometime. I'm a high school ALT. I assume you're elementary and / or middle school? Hope your book is coming along well, and I hope you've settled in comfortably!
