Thank you! I have, despite Life's best efforts to keep me down this month.

(And I still like the book, too. I may actually finish one for once.)

You people are INSANE, I tell you. I'm struggling just getting to 50K and some of you are three times the amount done with over half the month left?!

No, insane are the folks who already are 100k+ (meaning 10k+ a day). I'm just crazy.

(That you resembled that remark. I on the other hand, am totally sane.)

I am hijacking your thread so I will leave this:

I just hit 50K late last night and am not sure how much more I have to go into in the novel! I don't know . . . I'm excited to have reached the goal line, but feel a little discouraged now that I don't have that fire underneath me, urging me on — the excitement of watching my little blue bar creeping across the screen. I guess I'll just have to set a new goal for myself?

Rookie, done! Barely! But it counts!

It is a mess, but I think I managed to get some fun ideas into the story. It was a great challenge, this is by far the longest anything I've written. And it got me to just plunge into the BIG IDEA I'd been pondering for ages and just do it without thinking so hard about making it all perfect.

Happy to sit back, let the words age, then revisit them in a month or so, see what can be salvaged for a real second effort at taking this wild zeroth draft and make it into something better. I think there is enough there to keep working on it.

I probably won't be putting much work into it the last couple weeks. Holiday, and I've put off some other things in the name of the almighty wordcount since the first, I need to move on. But, I might log a few more if I'm inspired to go and fill in a couple gaps in the story.

I do recommend telling EVERYONE you know you're participating. I did it, and it helped force me along. I sent them all the link to my profile so they could track me. People all around me kept pestering me about the count, and it helped motivate me.

Congrats to everyone else that has finished. I'm so happy my bar just turned green. Now I think it's time to take a little break and celebrate before getting back to work.

Yay! I just made it a few minutes ago too!!!

Of course, I still have lots more to write on the story, but it is moving along. Think I'll get a few more words in for Thanksgiving before washing the dessert plates. USC is winning too - a good day!

Congratulations to everyone who has made it - I love reading the stories of those who had reason to believe they would not make it, and then HAVE!!!

Lee, in the green *grins*

11:55pm- I FINISHED!

I feel so insanely good right now!

It was ugly and I fought tooth and nail, I begged and pleaded and coaxed every last word I could out of my plot and it lasted and I made it!

Now to start on my second novel. :)

What a pretty certificate! Boo-yah!
Dedicated insanity worked!
I talked out loud, sang, walked in circles, and ignored conversations even when people tried sign language.
My family got used to it.
Hey guys, it wasn't bad was it?
Guys? Family? You there?

Wooo-Hooo!

Danced up and down last night while showing the husband my certificate. He sniffed and said he was going to sign on and type his novel up, in one evening. Get a certificate of his own.

I put soap in his coffee this morning. One real exciting commute to work, coming right up!

No, I didn't. Not really. But I thought about it. >:)
