Someone mentioned they work the night shift at the Arby's in Prescott some nights. Was that you, Archimedea?

Anyway, I thought I would ask, what nights? Who knows, a few novelist might come in and keep you company some night. ;)

Yes it was she, Shari. Or I mean she was her, er, it was her who said she (she who) works at Arbies. Arby's. Archimedea de Arby's.

Shari's description of Arby's nights reminded me of an Edward Hopper painting, specifically his masterpiece, Nighthawks

That would be me, all right.

The nights I close vary from week to week. This week, I'm only closing on Tuesday. I'm off Wednesday; Thursday is a shift manager seminar is Phoenix (I"ll be writing on my novel there as I've sat through waaaaaaaay too many of those seminars and can probably follow along in my sleep!). I'm off early on Friday cause I'm working a craft show for my mom on Saturday, and then Sunday is the Veteran's Day parade at the VA (my boys are Cub Scouts, and I'm a leader).

However, if we want to do a write-in at Arby's this Sunday after the parade - say around 2:30ish, I've got it worked with the store manager that the Wrimos can get free soda and coffee with a food purchase, and I'll be able to write! After I take my kids home...

The parade starts at 10. We were done last year by 1. I think. So, yeah 2:30ish would be good for me.

And, as for company at night, that would be awesome! If I'm the closing manager, I'll stick to the Wrimo agreement. Buy something to eat, and get free soda or coffee! I can't promise that from the other managers, though.

We have these really awesome cheesecake bites....

Closing Tuesday as in tonight Tuesday? Might be a good spot to retreat to if The Raven Cafe holds true to their new venue of special dinners and music tonight. Keep this in mind everyone who is attending tonight's write-in.

Yeah, it was tonight Tuesday. After seven, the lobby was empty! The drive-thru was almost non-stop though!

I kept hoping some of you would come in...

Archimedea, this is the kind of place I've looked for in Preskitt for years. But now I wrecked my car, sold my house and am leaving town. If I get a car before I go I will definately come to Arby's and write.

Thanks for telling us about it.

After writing at the Raven today (Sunday) Antonia and I popped over to Arby's for a couple hours. You're right, it's really dead there Sunday afternoon! Between the Raven and Arby's I was able to get 3200+ words! Whee!

So, what does your schedule look like for this week and coming weekend?

I was off today/Monday. I'm off Wednesday, and have to close Thursday. I'm off early Tuesday/today. Not sure what time. It's like 5 or 5:30. I have it written down on a pocket calendar, but that's in my purse in the other room, and I'm being lazy and don't want to get it. As for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I'm not sure off the top of my head. I'm thinking I close on Sunday, though.
