So, i figured I'd get organised and provide an actual thread for people with no daytime job/education/life to discuss getting together to write.

Maybe we should start with anyone who's interested posting a reply stating that they are (!), what days/times suit them best, and which town center they are closest to. Also, which town center/suburbs are they willing/able to travel to.

Sound ok? then we can sort whatever out from there.

me personally? interested, but very restricted in where i can go - hence the big interest in doing weekday ones that (potentially) i could host (if my folks dont mind me having people over, which they theoretically shouldnt).

WHERE: I'm closest to Belco, but probably cant even go that far. Dunlop, anyone?
DAYS: All days except fridays, i guess. well, MAYBE fridays, if i can convince my mother that i can go somewhere and get her to take me there.
TIMES: anywhere between maybe 10:30 and 3. any earlier and i'll just have to get up earlier so i can do my writing earlier and be presentable in time for company. Its do-able.

I'd love a weekday meet up. I'm free Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, all day pretty much. Also, I don't mind traveling a bit, so anywhere in Canberra is fine by me, but I'm closest to Belconnen. :)

Hmm. Weekdays are possible, the only catch I have is the days I'm on or off are not very consistent. Otherwise I can make them. As for location, I'm partial to belco. So it shouldn't be too much of an issue. My car goes great distances with little amounts of fuel.

Awesomesauce.

My mum has approved the use of my place for weekday meets, and you guys are belco peeps so that works.

What do you say to Monday (the 12th) at my place? time is open for discussion, i think two hours should be plenty though, right?

i will supply tea and coffee type facilities, a house with tables, chairs, bathrooms etc, googlemaps and bus numbers to help you find your way, and if you ask REALLLY nice i might bake something yummy beforehand.

BYO enthusiasm, laptop and/or writing supplies. feel free to also bring food.

Sounds good. Count me in. Maybe sometime after lunch, so we can eat at home? ((Unless you want to cater for a group of hungry writers))

Anyone on the southside? Being so far south, really on a weekday the furthest I can go is Woden if I'm going to get home before my mum freaks.

Sounds logical, Claine. How does 12:30 til approximately 2:30 suit all you Northies?

Bela mentioned at the Saturday meet up that he might be going. But I don't know if that was dependent on me going. I think I'll be giving it a miss though. I don't have a laptop, so I don't do much writing at write-ins, and I have some catching up to do anways. Maybe next time.

i'm happy to let you use our desktop if it means you'll come. the more the merrier, and Claine and i will feel very silly sitting around on our own...

can you ask Bela what his plans are?

ooh, desktop computer, eh? You may have just swayed me. Sorry for the late notice, but I'll try getting in touch with Bela tomorrow morning (he'll probably be hanging out at the Uni library) and see if he still wants to go along. If so, we may have to fight over the desktop. :) But I can do some scribbling and planning too!

I'll let you know what the score is in this thread as early as possible tomorrow.

But now, bed time!

Ok! Bela is confirmed. We'll zoom over and be there at 1230.

Sorry again for the late confirmation, but better late than never, yeah? :)

definately!

i'd rather have people say yes at the last minute than have no one come. i mostly put that deadline so that i knew if it was going to be just Claine and i, if we should change the day etc...

well, i'd better do find some lunch and tidy up the house...

Yay, I'm glad you two can make it. I'm just about to leave (wish me luck haha), and I'm bringing Filipino Candy.

It's just as well this is an all-ages message board, because you don't want to know what I was thinking when I first read "Filipino Candy"!

At least, I assume you ARE actually talking about lollies...aren't you?

Have a good write-in. I am at work, but (just between you and me and the rest of NaNoWriMo) perhaps I am doing a little bit of writing right now ;)

Heh. So my net has been wonderfully unco-operative with the rest of the universe recently, so I've been kinda out of the loop for nano unfortunately (sitting in the barracks... eeww :D) So anyway, the write-in is now I notice. Would it be too late for me to bother? I'm just thinking because it'll take me a while to get out that way. Probably twenty minutes and by then the write-in will be half over.

Dang. Looks like you missed out.

But it was good times! The four of us did a 10 minute word war, in which I lost, but still added 208 words to my story. And I wrote perhaps another 200 besides that? So I think it was somewhat productive too!

And we had tasty strawberries and befriended a wonderful li'l dog named Bella. Thumbs up all around!

Probably the last of my weekday write-ins though, as I start 9-5 weekday work next week. Eep. Oh well, there's always weekends.

Thanks again for your hospimatality, Lyradi!

Thank you very much :). I had a good time.

And yes, I'm talking about lollies, or was I. Guess if you weren't there you may never know :).

well, i'm glad everyone had fun!

(hey look, my computer is working now!!! i had to pull the battery out and let it sit there for like... two hours *grumble*)

sorry Baz, i had unplugged my internet in order to move my laptop before you posted!

note to self - people like home-grown strawberries, offer these as bribes for write ins...

if anyone wants to do another one, let me know when would suit! i'm up for it - maybe there will even be organisation and WRITING in larger quantities then!
