Springing from the other unofficial thread, someone suggested weekdays as an alternate time for a write-in, especially for people who are busy on weekends.
I work 9-5 weekdays, so anyone who wants to stand up and 'I can' to a weekday write-in please do so.
I can say 'I can' to an weekday evening write-in. Anyone feel like some inspirational beach writing? I've heard that Cibos or Gloria Jeans at Glenelg is almost dead on a Tuesday and Wednesday, so perfect for some frenzied writing driven on by full-strength caffeinated beverages. Public transport to the city is a tram away (I've gotta try out the new trams, see how they compare to Melbourne) and run fairly late now.
I'd like to hash out the idea and enthusiasm first. Tuesday the 13th or the 20th better? Maybe starting from 5pm onwards or turn up earlier if you want to, us lateys will have to deal with it.

I'd like to make a mid-week event. The tram ride down sounds like a great part of the adventure and means non-wheeled people can make it. Love writing in coffee shops too. They are my natural habitat.
I can make Wednesdays (preferred) or Tuesdays if I switch some things around. The 13th is better than the 20th.
Deal with it, yes. I like that concept.

I'm pretty much available all weekdays, _daytimes_. I'm actually sitting at the State Library Cafe right now, trying to make some more headway into my work. I'm also planning to be here a few other days in the next week, around mid afternoon, so people are welcome to join me.

Whoops, just posted about the midweek one in the other thread - BAD TABBY. tsk tsk.
I proposed the idea of Wednesday 21st or 28th? Gloria Jeans. I would be there after work, so by about 6pm. Not sure of their opening hours.

I'm very keen. I work in town now, currently from 1:30 to about 7:45pm if anyone's interested before or after then. Late next week my shifts change and will be all over the place.
Definitely up for this, someone propose some times?

Stealing from Chooky's post above - Gloria Jeans Glenelg, Wednesday 21st, 5pm onwards. Those who can be there before - please post and let others know so they know they are not alone! I will get there at about 6pm-ish and will stay until about 10-ish (assuming they stay open that late) so look forward to meeting you after you knock off Archangel!!
I will post again tomorrow once I have confirmed opening times unless someone already has.

Denise and I won't be able to make it. We've already got other things on that night, and by the time we leave there we probably won't get much writing done.
Besides, I need to try and build up my sleep levels before the all nighter.
If only sleep was like flexi-time, sleep a little bit extra for those days you need to have a late night.
I'm going to be so glad when November is over and I'm not running on depleted sleep levels from having to fight the urge between sleep and getting my story written.

Is there power available or shall we be running on battery power?
I'm still trying to make it but cannot yet confirm. Power being available would be encouraging though...:)

Excellent, I don't think I could get there until about 8:45 though, and would need AC power, or a pen and paper.
Whereabouts in Glenelg is it?

Um.... Just rang Gloria Jeans and have some good news and some bad news...
1. Good news is they are open until 11pm.
2. Bad news is they don't have scattered powerpoints around the place, but there is a powerpoint near their servery that we are welcome to use... can anyone say "plug in a super mega long power cord and a powerboard"?
I'm good with that, plus my battery is good for an hour or two and might bring a spare with me.
I am still going and will be there by about 6-6:15pm. I'll stay until close too.

Well, I was going to come...
but...
there's a slight problem...
I finished my story tonight, so I don't have anything left to write!...lol
Maybe I'll just come and have a celebratory coffee instead...:)

I still thought about dropping in to share a coffee but sleep overtook me instead!
I hope you all had a blast and got lots of words down!
I definitely plan on joining the friday night write-in though, as I shall need a kick start to begin editing by then after having a couple of days break.
See you all then!

Tonight was brilliant for my word count! I got another 6,545 done and I am just words away from the 40,000 mark now. By the end of this weekend, I hope to have finished, so bring on Friday!!!
(Look forward to seeing you then Red, and CONGRATULATIONS!!!)
Oh, and as for Gloria Jeans Glenelg as a venue for next year - big carpark in the shoppig centre directly behind it, public toilets only a stones throw away (about 25m) and I felt completely safe going in them, one lonely little powerpoint, but if you sit at the benchseat/table closest to the serving area, you can easily reach it with an extension lead and they were more than hapy for us to use it. Girls were ultra friendly and the place gets very quiet and then bustles for an hour then dies down again. I was quite happy there.

That's wicked! Thanks for being the advance scouting party. Next year when (not if) I come I will bring our really long extension cable so we can sit a little further away if we like.
Close loos are really good too, not to mention how nice it is to have friendly staff.
Now I wish I hadn't fallen asleep!

Fantastic to hear it went so well.
Hmm, we still have another week of Nano, so why not have another one on Tuesday?
Denise and I can't make Wednesdays and I've love to be able to turn up.

Sorry Chooky, you and Denise had said you were free on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays, so I ran with Wednesday (as I have a class on Tuesday evenings). My bad, I must have misunderstood.
I think you should definitely do Tuesday and have a huge crack at it in the last week!
Yey - it is full momentum now isn't it?

Normally our Wednesday Knitting group arrangements are flexible, but this week we had to catch up with someone who was selling lovely sock wool.
What can I say? It's an obsession.
