Yep, I did it!
50K in only 8 days.
My personal goal is 100k, and it looks like my story is only half done. :-)
So here is my 50,000th word. - Hamsters
The sentence - "Stomp on the hamsters!"
And with that I'm off to bed.
When you reach 50k, please add your 50,000th word and sentence.
Happy writing!

Saturday night - running into Sunday. I just cleared 50,319. Took 10 days 2 hrs. due to falling asleep at the keyboard tonight. I completed a Historical Fiction story in about 40k, then used dares.
Languages used: 14
Scripts used: 2 (Futurama and modified Ogham)
Rest of writing will be playing with ideas and languages to get 30 languages and 8 more scripts, and related art projects incorporating language.

Oh, 50,000th word was "you"
Context: "Naw ... then he'd be like, 'why do you want a holographic android when you can have a real man, and a rougeplast at that!' You know ego thing," said Chaze. (hey, punctuation doesn't count, right?)
(So they made holographic puppies with their Crayola Create-a-hologram kit and never, ever, what-so-ever, under any circumstances made a Golum. (Golum as in Jewish folklore)

Finished on Friday, but I didn't have access to the net until today.
My 50,000th word was "officer."
Sentence: "The petty officer seated at the firing control station looked up and smiled at her."
I'm going to halt writing for a little while and work on a project way overdue. I'll come back to this one in due time. :)

Crossed the line at OVC tonight! I blame OVC's Oregon Chai, because that stuff is amazing. Even if it busted my bank account!
The 50,000th word is "Gwendolen." Line in question: “No, I don’t think she will.” Sam said mildly-- but he wasn’t talking about Gwendolen.
In which Sam realizes his partner in crime has completely lost her mind, and backs away slowly from the crazy. The novel is clocking in at 8 Chapters and 35 Scenes, which puts me still in the first half of the novel. And I thought I was going to run out of story by now!

50,000th word: would
"I was scared that she would immediately return to working ten hours a day and more." (She didn't.)
This is by far my earliest NaNo win. I still have a lot of novel to go, though, so I'll be continuing to write away until I reach The End.

Geschafft! I did it! One week early, too. Two jobs, one daughter, and a lot of dark chocolate (I don't drink coffee, so I have to make do with something!) I want to do a little cleaning up of the story before I post it, but I got what I was aiming for at least. My first Nano win. May there be many, many more!

Fifty thousandth word: those
As in:
"Ugh, those taste terrible!"
51,155 / 50,000
Nov 23, 2007 - 23 00
"and." Wow, what a word!
Sentence: "If she continued to swoop in and throw fireballs at the same speed each time, he wouldn’t have enough time to counter the fireball and also attack her, without her dodging out of the way." Doesn't make much more sense, does it? ;)
Context: The MC is having a dream in which he uses Excalibur and the Elder Wand to battle the Wicked Witch of the West, who is swooping around and flinging fireballs at him. :O He's about to get ambushed by a federal agent disguised as Snape, and a rogue researcher disguised as the Wizard of Oz.
Yeah, it's one of those dreams.

My fiftieth word: Where.
Appearing in the sentence "The gentlemen had come upstairs in their absence, and Lady Clarissa thankfully went to greet them, avoiding the cluster of women still gathered on the rose silk sofas beneath the clean, unfaded rectangle of celadon green wall paper where the Braque painting no longer hung."
Not going to validate QUITE yet. Want to see how many more words I can accumulate between now and the end of Tuesday, first. 55K seems like a good goal to shoot for. =o)
Woot! I just won my third Nano in a row!
WAH!! It's almost OVER for another year!
Keep going, keep typing, there are still five days left!

word to push it over the edge? 'saw'
In the daylight all you saw were the displays; they ranged from subtle to garish, and as Jess drove down the Esplanade, turning onto East Third Avenue, she breathed in a deep breath.
up to 52,665 today, but still another 15-20K to finish the story....

Oh, I think the neighbors heard me scream!
50,000th word: physical
Sentence: We have travelled a great many days on this road travel and I do not think that Allsun will be able to travel this far as she would need to be away from her physical body with needs for too long.
Not done yet and will continue on to the completion of the novel but, I've crossed the official finish line. I will enjoy the green bar for just a bit before putting it all through the official counter and getting the purple. Just need to savor the green.

50k word: coming
Sentence: Especially since no one was coming into Junks.
validated a few moments ago after finishing another scene. yay! *happydances*
my story isn't done so i will be continuing.
good luck to those still trying to make it. congrats to all those who have crossed the finish line =)

I just crossed the line a few minutes ago. Boy does it feel weird! Anyway, my word is "that" as in:
A Pixie lives forever, unless cut down in mid-flight, and you sir, are responsible for that cutting.
Too bad I ended at the end of a chapter. But no matter, I'm off to celebrate with a NaNoWriMo dog walking! Huzzah!
50,243 / 50,000

Whew! Made it! The word: "shifted."
Context - We've just begun the explanation of why Betha keeps seeing the "Lady in Blue" in her back yard:
"We've made time travel work, but something has happened and now the spot we can travel from has shifted from the AIM timeport to your back yard."
I probably have another 5,000 or so words to finish the story, but that's what today and tomorrow will be for.
After three years of "that" and "is" and the ever-popular "nodded" for 10K, 25K, and 50K words, this was finally a juicy one! (What, me rig the sentence so it would work out this way? Never! No! Of course not! Well, okay, maybe a little.)
Note to self for next year's novel: Get those 1,667 words done each day! Don't fall behind! I was able to marathon through a couple of 3K and 4K days (plus a 5K+ day) to catch up, but it's sooo much easier to do it day by day!
'Congrats' to everyone who's crossed the finish line, and 'write, write, write, write faster!' to those who aren't there yet. You still have over 24 hours! Go, go, go!

“Of course, ma’am, but my mother would never let me live it down if I were not contrite for my language.”
“I understand,” Erica said.
I was uploading every sentence for the last 100 words... so cruised in to validate right at 50000. I may write some more tonight or tomorrow. And I will most likely come back to this story.
