Hey, it's a bar now!
I must say that makes me a little sad. I was half hoping to get 50K while the bar was still a dot!
Is it me, or are there a lot of really early finishers out there this year? I don't recall there being so many!

Heya people, I think I'm the youngest here to make it to 50k already right, (take 18 and take 5 from it and you have my age!)
:) Well, and I may be on 50k but my story is a long way from over too, in truth it really just began a few thousand words ago when my main people met and went on their first 'date'... arrgh, it was supposed to be a forensics and crime novel, not romance! *pout* oh well words! *grin*

I'm DONE!!!!
Although not done at the same time. I've still got three and a half chapters left to write so the keys are going to be rattling for a little while yet. Here's hoping I get the full thing done by the end of the month!

Wooo, target met in spite of being on holiday! Well, it did rain a lot.
Still got another 1,500 or so to go before I finish completely though.

Just finished...
I had a minor crisis at about 45K when I realised:
a) I didn't have much more to say
but
b) I hadn't actually built a climax into the novel it just sort of faded out.
Still, now it's done. With a climatic finish of a kind, leaving me with a 50K novel I really do want to follow up on and edit into something readable, as well as ideas for revisions to scenes and even sequels!
That leaves my NaNoWriMo career one for one... more pressure for next year I guess!

YAY!!! I made it! I'm there!
First timer -- didn't know if I could do this -- but I can.
I've committed 50,000 words, anyway. The story is FINISHED (in that I've written the last scene), but not COMPLETE (in that I now have to go back and write in lots more stuff and take out some of the dross). Will carry on tinkering onsite until Nov. 30th.
Warm congratulations to everybody who's made it already, and huge encouraging cheers to everyone who is approaching the finish line...

Just made it last night to the 50,000, but it doesn't feel like a victory yet. Because I am so close to the end of my novel, I feel like I haven't really won Nano before I've finished the lot as well; and I cannot write out of chronological order... The assessments are leering at me from my desk... Not a pretty sight.
Congratulations to all the winners, though!

Yay! I got there!
Quite a relaxing and comparatively uneventful ride this year, and I'm still in love with my novel. Needless to say it's grown out of all proportion and I reckon I'm probably only half way through it. Will continue until the end, although at slower pace!
Sorry I didn't get to any of the write-ins this year, other events overtook me. But next year, for certain!
Well done to all the winners and good luck to those still slogging away. See you next year!

Oh, shocked myself a bit there that I made 50,000, especially since I seem to have been crawling rather than writing for the past few days. I reckon I've got about 30,000 more words to go before the end; thankfully I'm still loving it enough to continue though I'll be at a slower pace too, suddenly 500 words a day sounds sedate...

Two and a quarter days to spare but I've made it. \ o /
The novel, of course, is nowhere near complete as the assassination investigation has only just begun! So I must continue on to finish the story at my leisure.
First attempt, first win! I'll be back next year.

I didn't think I could do it, but thanks to Chris Baty and all you supportive guys in our area I have! I haven't finished my story though so I'm going to continue, but at least now I know how to do it. :o)

Aaahhh!
I made it too. A difficult day for some reason, a good start but that last few hundred had to be dragged out, they just did NOT want to come.
Still, that's only part of it, probably take the same again to finish the story if I ever do that is.
If you'll excuse me, think I'll sit quietly in a darkened room for a while.

Oh yeah baby - I'm here at 50k. It's been more than difficult this year - nigh on impossible!
Still, here I am with a beautiful purple bar. Congratulations to everyone who is already here! I'm almost finished with my story - need write an epilogue then I am done - but got to 50k and that is all that matters!

Yay! I've come to join you all in the winner's circle!
----------This year followed the usual rhythm - week one: easy, week two: devilishly difficult, week three: getting there, week four: very very easy. I decided to just write wordcount every day, keeping to the plan, not missing a day or ever falling behind, and it worked. Which means I have the night off to celebrate - hurrah!!
Congratulations to the rest of you!
