Yeah baby - definitely count me in ;-)

Haven't got a clue where to go next with my storyline. How do you published authors manage to keep it going? I am in awe.

Must go check out the body farm website cos I'm stuck on something. May be that will jog some creativity - goodness knows I need it. 15 mins and counting.....

Oh yes- I kicked my sister off of the computer for this, and don't worry my story doesn't really even have a plot it is more like a documentary on my art class- *sigh*

Hello,

I am checking in for this week's challenge. I was unable to participate in last week's because I was out of town. I will set a timer and begin writing at 2:30. Unfortunately, I usually do not write that fast. I think the fastest I got was about 1000 words in an hour with over a tenth of them misspelled. You can spot the red underline under them very quickly. Then again, I right Sci-Fi and when I create names for characters and places and continue to use them, I will get an error from Word stating that I have too many errors to correct and the red lines go away but that does not show up until close to the end of November.

Dennis.

Here's how we'll handle it today -- because this website is pretty slow right now, we'll use separate email to tally our word count.

1. At the stroke of 2:30, start writing. Don't edit! Don't backspace! Don't do anything but throw words on paper.

2. At the stroke of 3:30, stop writing.

3. Count the number of words you wrote during the hour.

4. Put that number in the subject line of an email and send it to me immediately at rubberchicken10@hotmail.com.

5. I will tally the number of words, divide them by the number of participants, and call Baton Rouge with the average wordcount.

6. I will then post the winner on this thread.

Remember: Every person counts. If we all do well, but one person decides to drop out at the last minute or quits early, we get a zero added to our word count. And that would probably mean another week of taglines!!!

Good luck. We can do this!!

=D I've got a couple of new characters that popped out of the blue and want to do a scene, so I actually have to find out who the heck they are first. =D thus the random name generators. (Trent and Heath are their names, in case you're interested...)

Yee haw --

As of this moment, we have the same number as Baton Rouge has at their coffee house!! And we don't have to fight for a plug.

Remember, if your word count goes slowly, try tricks like renaming your main character with a double name -- Mary become Mary Joe. Tah-dah... Or have them start singing a song with lyrics included. Or reciting poetry -- The Raven is a nice thought. Or .. well, you get the idea. Now, I would never advocate cheating, but creative word padding is an art!!!
