Falling... falling... falling....

I am falling behind... I think I'm about 9,000 words behind...

My boyfriend and have both been really ill, so it's a case of lying in bed with a hot water bottle and a cup of lemsip, oh and dragging my ass to and from my miserable job...

I don't think I'm going to be able to recover from this (the wordcount not the sickness) so I may not make it to 50k....

Sorry to hear you've been downed - but you've come so far already. Could you do 2000 words each weekday, and somewhat over 2000 on the weekend? Sundays in Costabucks make for high word counts!

I had a dream this week that I had to have a shower but the only showers were outside in the street, and the previous people to use them had all done poos, which I then stood in and had to wash off...

Just try to get your 1667 done each day - don't worry about catching up. If you can some progress going, I can guarantee there will be one day in the month when you'll find you're more than capable of writing extra. People tend to rack up remarkable word counts on the 30th!

I had a dream this week that I was writing a half-decent novel.

I'm way behind too. I've been trying to do some on my lunch hours at work and on the bus to and from the various offices I have to visit, but it's small potatoes. At the moment I'm refusing to do a word count. I don't want to know how far behind I am. But I will catch up. I have to.

You can certainly catch up from 11k at this stage. Don't give up now!

I agree, it's definitely possible to catch up at this stage. Just write whenever you can and before you know it you'll be back on track :)

I had a bad year last year, I had nearly 10k to write on the 30th just to make it to the 50k mark never mind any breathing space. You know what though, I managed it (with copious tea and freaking out). Pressure is a great motivator and if all else fails call in sick to work and write! (Sorry, not good advice just my inner nanoer talking)

Keep going anyway. I thought I would never catch up, but I finally caught up last night! Hope you're feeling better
