Hi,
I am a first time NaNoWriMo participant and started with the ambitious goal of writing a novel about 1940's India (historical fiction).
Now, 20,000 words and 13 days later, I just realized I am pursuing a murder mystery based in Chennai. I guess somewhere along the way, I just realized that I did not know enough about 1940's India (staying away from India for more than five years may have had a little to do with it) and threw a dead body in. Now strangely, thats my main plot and I am figuring out a motive.
Has anybody else experience a similar change in genre or are you sticking with the theme you started with...
Happy Writing,
Sang

Hey,
My plot is mutating beyond recognition (What with with FMC and MMC hating each other, people falling of cliffs, swearing revenge, and the general absence of an antagonist). At the moment I'm going through my 3rd genre, but genre shifing had been one of the vague ideas in my head in October. But yes, I'm having a lot of fun with the story! :)
