I heard that this afternoon South Africa was lying 120th in the NaNo stats.

I've just checked now, and we're up to 116th OUT OF 350 regions IN THE WORLD!!!

Woohoo! Yeehah! And
"Daar kom die Bokke!"

Give yourselves a BIG CLAP and let's roll out those words! I think this is a pretty awesome statistic for little ol' S.Africa, in our own regional lounge for the very first time.

Don't believe me? Check here: http://www.nanowrimo.org/wordcount_stats

Let's keep it up folks! How about 112th by tomorrow evening?

Heya fellow South Africans -

We've reached 111th spot - with 1,448,388 words!!!

We're currently lying between Oregon and Iowa so let's keep that collective word count rolling!

Okaaaaay - we've moved up to 110th place - below Bellingham (?????), Washington and ahead of Lansing, Michigan.
Let's keep those words coming in.

PS - Is anyone even remotely interested in this or are you checking out those stats for yourselves?

The option to sort authors by word count isn't available this year. Lots of comments about this in the Feedback, Suggestions and Complaints threads. Take a look and add your "request" there - hopefully it will be up again next year, but in the meantime leave a comment. The more comments, the more likely Chris Baty et al will be to do something about it.

Not much hope for change this late in the game, but it should be better next year. I know the powers that be are also unimpressed with the system running this year and they have promised to have something much, much nicer for us next year.

With forum search function, hopefully.

On the stat side, yay, we're up to 107 now. Not bad for a region that only has about twice that amount of participants.
