Where did all of you go? Our thread is kind of lifeless! How is everyone?

Oh, MissB

I am in a funk. I have 8,000 words, a far cry from 25K. I think I need a ghostwriter. Maybe today, since I am so outrageously tired, i will sit down and type a little more nonsense to my already crazy story.

UGh. I need a cheerleader. The massive pep talk emails from the professionals are only making me feel worse!

Cheers!

You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it!

I find what helps me the most is to just write the first thing that pops into my head. And no matter how much my inner editor, who has been most silent except for the occasional objections, tells me that what I'm writing won't work out with my plot I am determinded to make it work out somehow. In drama I find improtu acts to be the most entertaining, and with my story I'm trying to apply the same method. So far I'm loving every minute of it =)

So just keep writing, no matter how silly it may sound!

Cheers, Cheers, and more Cheers!

MissB,

Thanks I needed that. As you can see, I have added a fat little three thousand words onto this bad boy. And let me tell you it is BAD. Not in a good way. my inner editor, thank the holy gods of scribe, has been too damn tired to care. Plus, I have other things in classes I can let that editor go to town on! I'm in it for word count, baby. I don't even have a plot worked out, I'm wingin it from Day one. No plan, man, No plan. This is my first nano, so I'll be happy if I just make it to the end, fill up that bar.

Good God! You're almost halfwAY DONE!

I need to catch up! Thanks for the cheers! I envisioned your high kicks and pom poms, that really did the trick! maybe I can get another 3 grand in tomorrow... My writing jags are usually about that and then I'm done.

E,

Way to go! I wish I had more three thousand days, then I can take several days off to work on other things (such as homework, but that's not too important =). Haha I wince at the idea of me even trying to do high kicks, I think I might pull something!

Oh man I was worried I wouldn't meet my goal tonight! I can't believe I've gotten this far and still have such a long way to go in my plot. Compare to last year I should get some sort of medal, since last year I didn't even make it to the ten thousand mark, but I was close!

Now I'm off to study for my Anatomy test tomorrow. I am so not looking forward to that!

This has not been the best time for me to write. I've had so many things starting and ending that I have very little time to write. I'm hoping to make it to at least the 1/2 way mark by Thanksgiving, as I have three days off beginning next Monday.

we'll see...

The last two days I haven't met goal and that's been strangely calming for me. I've been so obsessed with meeting goal that I was beginning to feel like my name! I know I'll catch up but right now life needs some attention.

Like Neil Gaiman said, just keep going!

Walla Walla, We are Champions!

Even if you didn't make it to 50k, or won't make it to 50k today, pa yourself on the back. This is a crazy undertaking, and chances are, you have a great start on a novel! Keep writing it, you know? Don't give up just because November has passed you by. I can't think of a worse month for this NaNoWriMo thing to take place. November was full of things trying to keep me away from my novel (and succeeding) Luckily for me, I'm a freak under pressure, that's when I pull out my best stuff. So, I went from the less than halfway point a couple days ago, to crossing the finish line today.

But after finishing a hideous draft of a so-so novel this afternoon, I can say that I have a lot of respect for anyone who even attempts this insanity. What I learned from this experience is that letting go, and just going for it, can take you straight to your goals faster than you ever thought possible. I didn't think I could do it, a million times, I didn't think I could make it. But I did. I will now apply my Nano knowledge and stamina to other areas of my life. It was a good, fast ride at the end there, and I'm really glad it's over. I'm going to have a cookie and go play in the snow. You should have a cookie too.

Keep on truckin' y'all, and thanks for making this bearable. Miss B, I don't think i could have done it without your encouragement, and that glaring purple bar of yours taunting me onward. Oh, and reminding me to take my own advice and listen to the Eye of the Tiger to get psyched it totally worked! I think I have carpal tunnel syndrome now!
Way to rock and roll, sister! Cheers to next year, where I will be writing from Baltimore!

Oh thank you so much E!! I'm so proud of you for pushing onward and rocking on! Now I just have to find something else to do one my time off...maybe finish my novel!

I must say, it feels weird not to write +1,000 words everyday!
