Reached the 50K point at 1am, Nov.15. I'm still introducing core characters -- lol! They will come into play in the next novel I guess. But I still intend to continue writing at least until this main book of the story is done.
Let us know when you beat NaNoWriMo!

Wow! Good for you. May I be the first to say congratulations and I am so totally jealous! I hope to reach 20K by the end of the day. Fingers crossed for me and good luck to everyone else!

Yea you. Great going. Isn't the green bar pretty. Wait until the count verifier is up (it might already be not sure), and you can get the even prettier purple bar with Winner on it.
I'm almost at 20k. Getting sick can really cut in to your word count. I have a few things to do today and Friday, I'm going to spend most of the weekend writing. That is the plan.

Awesome! Great to see someone from Saskatchewan fill that green bar for the first time this year.
I'm almost there. Hoping to reach the 50K mark this weekend or next week.
Congratulations again!

Congratulations, again.

Congratulations Cyurus, it is amazing to see us all getting up there, but passing 50K by halftime is awesome.
Pre Nonowrimo I would have got nowhere. This has to be the great escape for me anyway. Can I tell you a discovery Riacara? When one is sick, it takes a lot of effort to read even the most engaging book. However, writing is extraordinarily easy. Suppose it makes sense - reading and playing someone else's music as opposed to playing one's own piece.
Anyway, one shared thought. This bug is hard to shift.
My goal yesterday was to pass 30000 and I got to 29028.
My goal today is to enjoy the journey. These characters are taking me in directions I never dreamed of. I'm loving this.
Saskatchewan writers are awesome!

I crossed 50,000 on the evening of Nov. 18 :-)
Before the month started, I set a goal of 3,000 words per day, so technically I reached 50,000 one day behind schedule. And I didn'r accomplish much today because I was streaming the Rider game while writing. It was very distracting, but in an awesome way. And then I had to watch Family Guy and American Dad. And then I felt guilty about my slippery sidewalks and shovelled snow & scraped ice for an hour.
Now for sports...
Any Rider fans here? What did you think of the game? I like our chances in the Grey Cup, especially with Winnipeg's starting quarterback, Kevin Glenn, suffering a broken arm in their game today. I'm not cheering his injury but it will be tough for the Bombers next week.
And back to the news...
I am working on chapter 10 of the 19 that make up the first section of the novel. I think I need to tighten things up to have any hope of finishing the novel before the end of November. Worse yet, I haven't finished outlining section 2. It could be another 10 or more chapters long. Yikes!
On the other hand, I 'm 3,000 words ahead of where I was last year and I wrote a further 37,000 in those final 12 days. In 2005, I wrote 68,000 words in the last 12 days of the month (yes, that's not a typo) including almost 16,000 on Nov 30. In 2004, I wrote 55,000 words in the last 12 days. I guess what I'm saying is, no matter how far behind you are, you can accomplish a lot in 12 days. Hopefully I can pick up some momentum and get this thing done on time.
Good luck to everyone else on reaching 50,000. Let's defeat our American and Australian rivals!

Congrats to those who've reached 50K! It's been a long road -- but you have made it! :-)
I am really looking forward to the Rider game too, James. . . I've been following them all season and it's great to see that they've done so well. I am really happy with the new coach, and a great team this year. Now if only they could pull a few of those players off the injured list we'd really be kicking butt. . .

Hey Selendrile, way to write 739,997 words :-)
Okay, I know your word count is a typo, but in the plus side, it's really going to improve our average words per writer.
Regardless, keep up the good work. And congratulations again to all the winners.

Congratulations to all who have hit the mark and huge encouragement to eveyrone who is still on the way. I hit 50,000 tonight and still have more to go. I can't believe what sidestreets my characters chose to walk. They keep going places I did not intend them to go. I still have two big papers to finsih for courses but all I want to do is follow Mignonette and Bruno on their journey. Will they go back to life in the circus or have they found their true calling running La Belle Reve?
Anyway, must go and rest my hands now.
Good night to all.

Well, I did it. Overshot, truth be told. The word counter I've been using all month said 50, 009 so I uploaded my novel...
The site says 50, 878... I had it yesterday, and I didn't even know! XD
Oh well, I still won, without even getting to the main plot. That leaves me a lot of time to go on. A whole year almost, even!
