So, whose brains have finally walked out of their heads from lack of sleep and overdose of novel madness?
I'm pretty sure that mine have. But week two was fairly atypical of what week two usually is. I felt overwhelmed, underslept, and overtired; also fairly certain that my characters were plotting against me for reasons that are currently unknown.

Well, week one included lots of video game playing and Darren Hayes music, both of which helped with the writing.
Week two, on the other paw, I felt it was a disaster. Sure, I wrote quite a bit, but I felt I wasn't very motivated to do so (I think it was because I didn't play any video games at all, nor did I listen to the right music). Isn't that funny? I consider week one a huge success, despite writing less than week two. How does that work?
I've just put a couple more hours into Soul Nomad & The World Eaters, so here's to another five thousand (or more) word night!

You know, it is kind of funny when you write about experiences that have happened to you in the past - you see, I am writing about my travels and the various adventures that I had while travelling. Through my writing I am finding that I remember an amazing amout of stuff, even though some of the things that I am writing about happened over a year ago! So I am getting somewhat distracted with the memories of what I did, what places looked like and wanting to go through my pictures again so that I can get a better idea of what was going on at one time.
*grins* Needless to say, I am keeping up (barely) with my writing, though I am now trying to get ahead. Not a bad week two, starting to be thankful though that I have not been called into work! *laughs*

Well, I broke through the half-way point today, hurray! I think the most helpful bit of advice so far has been to simply write the interesting stuff and leave out the rest. Whenever I get stuck on a scene, I wrap it up quickly and move on to another one, one with lots and lots of conflict. Transitions can always be added later.
I'm incubating a nasty cold (as opposed to one of those nice, gentle viruses) and expect that the next couple of days could be a bit of a slog. But I'm determined to hang in there!
