CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FIRST WINNER IN SOUTH AFRICA:
Silaelo of Durban has clocked in with a huge 64,344 words!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the only one I see in our country that has crossed the winning post.
A couple more to come soon . . .
Watch this space, and don't forget to report in when you make it!

Puff! Pant! Wheez!
I'm here! I'm here! What a great feeling. I can recommend it folk!
I want to know how KwikSilver managed to GAIN 185 words in the validation process! I LOST 150!
Added 150 . . . and still lost ten.
Added one more sentence of 12 words . . . and was told I was at 50,016!
Who taught the validator to add anyway? Much rather have it KwikSilvers' way!
Anyway, don't forget to report in when you get here, and KwikSilver and I aren't through yet. We're continuing to write. She's headed for 60K and I'm going for 65. So we'll still be around for a while. :-)

If I'm correct at this stage, 9 am Sunday, there are six of us in S.Africa over the 50,000 mark. Hurry over to the validator, scramble your text, and paste it in so that you can get yourself this loverly purple winners' ribbon!
Don't forget to POST on the forum that you've achieved the word count. It feels good for you, and it's encouraging to the others. http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/1064759
I expect to see LOTS more of you during the next week. There are some awesome word counts out there! Keep up the good work. You can all still do it. Let's beat all records for our little country!

moonblue staggers across the line panting and gasping. And then does a little dance to assorted finding nemo quotes: I
did it, I did it, Whoa! Like whooaa.
Even better, i managed to actaully finish the story. The last bits are sketched out very broadly. Talk about tell not show. But at least when i do the editing and rewrite i am just filling in details and don't have to think about plot or anything like that. I had a feeling that if i just wrote on until 50K i would lose momentum. SOmething very satisfying about typing; THE END in big friendly letters.
And now I am going to bed. I still can't believe that i finished ahead of schedule. I always finish everything at the last minute. But very glad to be in such good company as all you guys. And those of you who will be streaming in over the next few days.

Also to catk, of PE, who has done it while struggling through a grim time with chemotherapy. You are an outstanding example to us girl!
Several more on the horizon. Go! Wrimos Go! Go! Wrimos Go!

Hooboy! They're pouring in, all wearing their purple banners!
Some amazing word counts in the last 2 -3 days. I can't IMAGINE writing 30, 000 words in three days!
I actually finished my novel today, after an 11,000 word sprint. My neck is going into spasm, my left arm is numb, my fingers hurt, my legs don't want to touch the seat any more, and my eyes are out of focus. I won't be able to move tomorrow, but it's the first time I've finished within the month so this is a small price to pay. (Remind me of this tomorrow!)
I'm SO PROUD to be part of this awesome team. YEAH the SA Wrimos!
See you all next November!
