I am feeling very uninspired with my novel at the moment.
I've managed about 1000 words a day but could do with a bit of inspiration.

It's not that I don't know what's going to happen, because I do, but it's just the getting there.
What has inspired people to sit down and knock out thousands of words in one go?

Need some serious prodding of buttock.

Yeah, I could do with a hand too....
I've slowed right down...
My brother suggested randomness. Add a laugh or two, make it fun to write.

Eg: My two duelists who are this ultra skilled ninja and this fifteen foot six armed demon stop for a tea break, and a horde of ferrets run into an epic battle.
I can make loads of words out of this..
Hope that helped.

Edited to add: Having support really helps me. From my brother (whose advice also rocks, his NaNo username is DoctorJest) is really good, I also want to eat him (not likely, but I can always hope. Good luck with getting back up to speed!

I'll admit, every now and then, especially towards the end when I can't be arsed, I have very random days. About chapter 13 two of my characters have an erotic game of Jenga.

I soooo do not want to know.

Actually, wait, I'm trying for another baby at the moment. Maybe I do!?

Uhm, someone help me to separate NaNo from real life! :)

Gratuitous sex is always a good word count booster, and other than children's/teen lit, you can use anywhere, so it's a good thing to fit in. (Holy hell, I'm getting rather prone to innuendo on these boards lately!)

i am gonna have to get a little bit of sex in to mine soon, but its sex in the 17th century. In Brazil. I'm not entirely sure if I am capable of writing this. And I really really hope the parrot doesn't get involved.

But otherwise, I too am getting stuck. I am still writing little bits, but realistically I need to do 2000 words a day now to get this finished on time. Which is mightily depressing. I have a vague idea of whats got to happen, but I haven't got to those bits yet and i feel like I'm writing boring Filler chapters. any help?

17th century Brazil eh? suspect there could be a whole lot of corset undoing which should take up a few words........

Trouble is I've already written my gratuitous sex scene and it's right at the end.
Unless they're dreaming about a past encounter? Hmm.

I'm about 3000 words a day behind though - whoops.

I think I might have a new incentive now though - I got some of the nanowrimo cloth badges (I'm a sucker for them as Bel can attest - side effect of being a Guide leader), so naturally I want to earn as many as poss!

Ooh, just thought, have had a Brownie song go round my head all day for no reason, so can waste words by having one of my characters singing it..............
Which is even better because one of my characters is the descendent of Neil Armstrong who was an Eagle Scout....... this gives me the basis of an entirely irrelevant conversation! woohoo!

I'm sorry, I can't remember the full quote but wasn't Rimmer a space scout?

Pinkle Squirmy Blip Blab Blob!

Indeed Rimmer was.

Have now gone from singing the Brownie song to all my characters singing (it's a crew bonding thing) - and of course provides excellent novel padding.
Have found a french song called 'The Ferret, It Runs' which now just has to be included y'see!
