You are invited to a wrap-up THANK GOODNESS IT’S OVER Party!

WHO
Absolutely EVERYBODY. It doesn't matter whether you wrote 350,000 or 5 words. We want you there. You will be glad it's over, right? Right. So be there.

WHEN
Sunday, Dec. 2, 6:00 pm

WHERE
Godfather’s Pizza
7002 Johnson Drive
Mission, KS 66202
(913) 236-9700
http://www.godfathers.com/
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=address&country=US&popflag...

Johnson Drive is about 1.5 miles south of the intersection of I-35 and I-635. We’ll be in the party room. You can pitch in some money on the pizza that’s already ordered when you get there, or order your own.

WHAT
At the TGIO, we will:
-Celebrate and commiserate, socializing without having to do any more writing (unless you want to take notes on quirky characters for some future work)
-Get a little prize, win or not
-Share an excerpt, as desired, from your novel (just a short amount–maybe a couple of pages) because it is hard to read in a party-all-night-long atmosphere...)
-Sign up, if desired, for the e-mail list to keep informed of twice-monthly write-ins during the year
-Have fun! I foresee charades with some plot-pot leftovers, and perhaps a few rounds of some word games (drawn from the 35 word-based board and card games in my collection of 165 or so).

WHY
Because the novelists party all night long in KC. (Or at least until 8:30 or 9. And yes, I’m still trying to get that tagline changed...)

I definitely plan to be there, though I am working most of that weekend so it is up in the air.

Me too...I'll be there. Almost certainly not a winner this year (in word count) but not a giver upper. ;~)

Sure, that's fine. (Well, unless you mean your 12 second cousins once removed from your grandfather's second marriage...) Is your son interested in writing, or just in seeing what kind of crazy people his mother has been hanging out with? :->

There wouldn't be room if everybody brought entire families, of course, though we certainly welcome, say, parents of teens, who certainly deserve a party after all the support they've devoted to the NaNo endeavor.

I'd love to, but with boatloads of out-of-town family members (not mine, thank God) coming in for the December Birthday Celebration (and that includes me, just so you know), I'll be too busy stirring up trouble and getting my name stricken from the in-laws' family Bible to attend. Also, my WC is abysmally low because while I write pretty much every chance I get, I had trouble discerning "word count" from "character count" so I thought I was way ahead of myself, which I'm not. I'm going to slink to my corner and cry now.

Have fun!

We'll excuse you for the family commitments, but word count is no reason for anyone to stay away.

*Two-time non-finisher of fifty thousand words*
*Come to think of it, I didn't hit 50K total for those two years*

I'll be there!

I'll see what I can accomplish re: my work schedule. I should be there (I mean c'mon, I missed all the write-ins, surely I can make this one night!).

I may conduct impromptu interviews of authors and their families to add material to my book!

*waves*

Hi! I'm going to try and make it in town that weekend, so I should be there. As long as, you know, those of us who live in KC in our hearts if not in reality are still invited. XD. You guys are so much more fun than the nanoers up here...

Would love to be there, but doubt I will find a way.

Have fun and eat a slice of pizza for me, while I sit and eat my Macaroni and cheese. Will be thinking of all those starving writers in Kansas City sitting there eating pizza. Enjoy!

Now that I accomplished the goal. I am feeling a bit let down. With my characters parting now I must wander away from it . Probably to be laid in the bottom of a trunk where some distant family , years from now might find this month long writing. Then again I may just burn it!

Congrats to all who made their word count, the rest of you , well there is next year maybe life will be smoother by then. Three years it has taken me to get the nerve up to even try. Look at me I did it, anyone can!

Even though I won't be able to finish my wild battle to 50K (long story), I will most likely be able to make said party. Though my boyfriend might tag along since he will probably be my ride. He's been thinking of this story in his head all month but has been refusing to write with me, so feel free to use the opportunity to harass him about that!
I'm not one for charades so much either, but it's fun to watch. And I heart word games!

If my wife doesn't have to work and if the weather's not too bad, we'll try to be there. I'll be sitting in the corner with the rest of the folks that came up short this year.
