I just had a revelation.

The past few days have been difficult. I was getting words down but I didn't feel like they were any good. Tonight I had to go back to an earlier chapter to check a detail I'd forgotten, and as I read the paragraph to find what I was looking for, I forgot my rule about not rereading anything until I finish. When I realized what I was doing, it hit me. I sat back in my chair, and all alone in my apartment, I said, out loud to no one in particular:
I really love my story!

My chest kind of tightened up and I had to blink away the tears that were burning my eyes.

It may sound melodramatic, but that's what happened. I'm totally excited now, and with that revelation came a burst of inspiration. Must go write!

Just thought I'd share :)

I went through the same thing this morning. things have been going terribly slowly and I was nearly ready to give up (of course, I gave up three or four times a day last year and still finished) until this morning, I reread my last sentence, and not only realized that I love my characters, but the writing doesn't actually suck. and then I realized my problem is obviouisly I'm going for quality over quantity, which is not what this month is about, so I have the feeling my word count is going to triple in the next few days.

I'm happy I'm not the only one :)
