Alright, everybody.

Some of my WriMos here in Madison are looking for a bit of extra challenge to help out with their motivation, now that we're over the halfway point in the month.

I propose a Cheesehead Word War, between the Madison, Milwaukee & Waukesha, and Elsewhere regions. Let's see who can pound out the most words between now and Sunday. That's two more "work" days, for us M-F people, plus a nice, long weekend to pump up the word counts.

Thanks to the new Word Count Scoreboard, located here:

http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/wordcount_stats

I can see where each region is at this moment, as far as average words per participant. Madison is at 14,532, Milwaukee & Waukesha 14,328, and Elsewhere 15,681.

What say we check the scoreboard again at 10pm on Sunday, and see which region has posted the biggest gain?

Just to put some money where my mouth is, I'll send a special treat to the ML of the winning region, for their TGIO party!

- Eric

Sure, plan it for the only weekend I can go hunting. ;)

Well, if you can get Jacob writing, I think we can give them a run for their money. Sunday if you can make it on it to Misty Mountain, you can even keep me going. I might get more than 3000 done then.

So we're going person by person? And from now, Tuesday night, to Sunday?

I can see what I can do, but I'm totally game (writing as a Wisconsin-Elsewhere person).

I have to work tomorrow, then there's T-giving, but I can see sitting in my pajamas 'til late in the day.

Word count on Tuesday night at 9:03: 35946.

I'm in too. ^_^ (Even though I ended up skipping out on working on my NaNo last night...) I need something to "re-distract" me back to my novel again.

Count me in, too! Nothing like competition to get me several thousand words over just a few days, words that I am desperately in need of.

The numbers are irrelevant to me. I say we won no matter what. ;)

Well, if you go by the numbers right now, we won by a little over three hundred words per person. ^_^; (Yay, we broke 20,000 for average word count!)

As for last night at 10:00, I calculated the differences in average counts per person sometime early yesterday evening, and we were winning by about 60 or so words per person, and even though I put in another 3000 or so words between then and 9:30 when I stopped writing, the numbers on the scoreboard didn't seem to have changed at 11:00 when I got around to checking back again. So by my calculations, it looks like we won.
