I can totally relate.
And what's worse, I made a math error, and instead of having 12,000 words to go (great!) I have 22,000.
Keep going. I've tried three times (this is my fourth), and won twice. All you can do is keep going!!! When you print out the big, thick book on December 1, it's so worth it!
Good luck, A.

Another person in one of the writing groups is also trying to pack and move during NaNo! Talk about stress. Are you moving to Houston or from Houston?
You may just have to throw in the towel this year. And believe me, no one would blame you if you did. There are only so many ways you can be pulled in one month without completely breaking. So if you decide to shelve your story, to finish at a later date, you can be very happy that you already have 12-15,000 words done! That's a heck of a lot more words than some people have logged.
Or if you decide to keep writing, have your character go through a mental breakdown and write stream of conscious about anything and everything. It doesn't even have to make any sense cause she's crazy! Some where in there, your story may take off in a direction that you like and the words will just flow.
Good luck with your move!

im moving to houston
----------which is so stressful
and one of my biggest problems is balancing packing with writing
im leaving in 3 days though, so if all goes well I can do as you suggested and write about crazy stuff :)
I hope I can finish
and i am going to do everything in my power to do it
but if i dont
i will be back next year without a doubt
one month
to move
and to write a novel

Do you know what part of town you will be in?
I know you won't have much time with unpacking and such, but you are always welcome to pop in at any of the write-ins. We are still firming up the venue for the TGIO party on Dec 1. And if you can't make to anything this year--we will look for you next year at the Kick-off party.

Look, don't feel bad. I'm more behind than you!
This is my first year, my first novel, and I'm having a great time. My teenage daughters are cooking thanksgiving dinner so I can write. I don't know whether I'll make it, but I'm still gonna try and give it my best. That's all we can do. Have faith in yourself and if you make it, great ! If you don't, keep writing anyway--you'll get there. So what if you write a novel in 35 or 40 days--that's still an amazing accomplishment.
I sympathize with moving. Few things in life are more stressful....

I totally relate, one of my favorite characters just died :( and I am hating it. My protagonist is too, and is FINALLY getting over it. My story wasn't going ANYWHERE and somehow Foster...just...died. Now I'm sort of back to going nowhere, but there is a wedding coming up so that will help my lack of word count because I will be VERY descriptive about it ON PURPOSE. When all else fails, make your characters get lost in the woods and describe it until its THERE in front of you, and it's not just words anymore. Marry someone, Let someone die, give one of them a drastic mindchange, better or worse.
