As of about an hour ago, I reached 50,000 words! Of course, I'm so tired that it hasn't really registered and probably won't until I wake up tomorrow, but heck, I did it!

Me too yesterday in the late afternoon. Now I am (gasp) letting someone else read it.

Finally, I too have finished. Hip hip and hooray. Not to sabotage my novel by adding a final chapter where the author celebrates his victory and talks to the characters... and then to start something way more fun to write

Although I hit 50,000 at mid month, I'm still writing. I need to update my word count. I've got a lot to do now that I have a skeleton of a book. There are certain issues I will need to deal with in the future.

Anyways, for everyone working out there: whether you've hit 50,000 K or not, there is a tremendous amount to learn within this process, so keep going for it! There is an entirely different switch which gets turned on when you turn off your editor and focus on word count.

Especially, I think that the advice to write everyday; even if it's only three hundred words is an excellent thing to keep in mind. It doesn't take long to forget things and become detached from the work in progress.

When you feel like you are empty and have nothing to write: write anyways because you can edit poorly written material, but you can't edit a blank page.

Blessings to all Nannowers out there!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I'll get there soon, with at least ten twelve/thirteen/fourteen year olds right with me. It's fantastic.

Pour out a little liquor for me.

Yay to all of us! I managed to get it done too! Now to let the story rest for a couple months before I start editing the heck out of it.

*pats self on back* About an hour ago, I topped the mark and managed to get the site to work to validate the text for me.

I hurt in all sorts of places, and I am so tired it's not even funy, but I did it.

Of course, now that means I have to catch up on everything I neglected. Oh well.

WAHOOO!!! I did it! I really did it!

Frankly, I can't believe that this book, which has lived in my brain for so long, is finally out on paper. This month was exactly what I needed to get the project done, instead of always 'meaning to' , 'wanting to', and 'wishing I could'. I actually did it and I am thrilled.

Congrats to all who finished and those who didn't -- even just attempting this lofty goal is worth celebrating.

I crossed the finish line on Monday. After a few days off I'm back at it to finish the last chapter. What a great experience!

I got there on the 28th - I think. Might have been the 27th. The last couple of days have blurred a bit.

Finally wrote "The End" about 12 hours ago.

Won't make it to the TGIO though, as I'm still too baked and have a lot of catching up to do on other things (groceries, bill paying & other minor necessitites of modern life)

I finished!

Of course, that's mostly because I got inspired at midnight last night and stayed up until 2:30 writing because of this.

So I was dead in class this morning.

But I finished. First win in four tries!

luv n' skittles,

OW!!! My fingers are cramping!

I had the day off of work today so that I could be here while a nice man replaced my broken furnace with a spanky brand-new one! I typed all day! and......BROKE 50,000!! WOOT.

I thought this year might be the first year I didn't finish! But just under the wire here I am! Now...I've got to go soak my fingers in epsom salts in an effort to try to regain feeling in them! :)

I did it did it did it! Oh my gosh, it still hasn't really sunk in yet... when it does, I'll be able to say something coherent. But until then...

Fifty-five minutes to spare, 16 000 words in the last three days.

I will admit this has been the busiest month of my life, for reasons that really had nothing to do with nano and everything to do with school. so I am extraordinarily pleased.

Well, I didn't win this year, but I broke 20K, which is way better than I've done in a non-win year before! :-)

I just barely finished with half an hour left in the month. That was after I wrote almost 9,000 words in under five hours. Ah! Nobody thought I could do it but all you guys on the chat and for that I thank you. If you hadn't been there to keep me from wandering off and getting bored I wouldn't have finished at all!

Yay! Congrats to you all! Even those that did not finish! *Throws confetti in the air and hands out cookies* To those that did not win, you still wrote a lot of wrods, more than you probably would have if you had not attempted Nano! :)
