I just did the math... I thought that it might be somewhat screwy, but if everyone who has AFFILATED with Portland updates their word count by 245 more words, we'd be in 7th place for wordcount.

If it's in the forum, and it doesn't make sence, then I probably posted it.

I just updated for close to 2,000 words today. So that should help a bit, I think...

That's only if the people in 7th place don't update their word count at all.

The only thing wrong with your suggestion is that while we may be adding 245 words, those above us are also writing. We need to find some way to stop them from writing as we plunge forward with our amazing word counts.

I did notice something else too. It seems that those above us on the count have contributed more money. Maybe if we increase the amount of money we submit, we will rise on the list. Just a thought.

Maybe if we hit a sale on super glue, we could stick their fingers together so they couldn't type as fast. Hmm.

Say! I just typed "THE END" and it feels so lovely! It took me a bit over 64,000 words to do it. This was the most fun story I have ever written. Bar none.

No! Elsewhere in London has shoved us so rudely into 9th place! *writes like crazy*

So, although I'm at a loss for having any chance of making it to 50,000 this year, I now have a new goal. I will try my hardest to contribute to keeping Portland in the top 10 for words written this year. Whose with me!? We may fail on getting our own goal, but we can work to make our city have more words!
