My novel got finished at 37K. I'm satisified with how it came. Then padded a bit to bring it to 41.5K. Should I write more to make it 50K or stop?

First, congrats on finishing your novel. A fine achievement, that!
I have reached 50K but I still need to put in around 12-15K or so to get mine done, and it is great to see that you have reached a point of completion in what you set out to do. You may not have reached 50K but you have reached an important milestone, worth cherishing. Ultimately the purpose of NaNoWriMo is to make you write that first draft, and it has served the purpose for you, because you have a story you can now work on.
Given that thestory you set out to tell is told to your satisfaction, what I think you need to consider is whether you want to be, in letter, a NaNoWriMo winner (having completed a novel in less than a month, you already are one in spirit).
If you want to be a 'winner' as per NaNoWriMo criteria, I see the possible options as:
1> write another novel of 50K ;-)
2> extend this novel by adding scenes that could later go into a sequel or get added back to give depth to the novel
3> add a pre-story to the novel that could later go into a pre-quel or get integrated back to the novel (there's no such word, but you know what I mean)
4> Add more descriptions and scenes to the body of the novel.
5> add a subplot/ develop a subplot a bit more
6> introduce some more complication that you were originally avoiding because you wanted to get the novel done--explore and let the words flow again
I am also sure there are others in your situation and if you go to the general forums, you will find relevant advice/ opinions. I sort of remember seeing forums where they discuss at length what can be included in the word count and aspects like that.
Again, congrats
Cheers
