I know for some 50K is not the end of the novel - for me it isn't - I need to get b/w 80-100K to have a full length novel for my genre.
I'm curious who will have an actual COMPLETED novel at the end of the month and what do you plan to do with it?
I am hoping and writing daily on pace to reach about 80K at the end of the month but I might spill over into December finishing it.
I have already started scouting publishers for the genre just to see what's out there, although I have a LIST - that's right a bullet point LIST of details I want to add into the story (outfits, foods, coffee flavors, lol) and then there is the editing... ;-)

a compled novel is my goal, I hope I can make it. This past week I barely touched my novel, had family over that I see only once a year so it was tough to do any writing. They left this morning so now I'm working hard to play catch up.

Mine won't be even close to complete. I think mine is looking to be at least 100k in length, but I know I won't be there by month's end. Afterwards? Well, we'll just see how well I like this one at the end of it. There is a lot I am liking and a lot that I cannot stand. That's fairly normal, however. I want to go back and finish last year's novel, too...I have a feeling that one could become something special. Anyway...good luck with your plans!

I have completed one, and have it set up for a sequel next year.
I am working on several books simultaneously. I think one is a good stand alone short story, finished.
One is about half done.
a couple are completely nowhere near finished.

I'll be happy just to add another 50k month -- I'm a little behind the pace at the moment, but I can still make it -- but I'm also considering this year another installment in a series. Finished product? Not EVEN Close
This is a series of "space opera" tales that currently have all begun as NaNoWriMo efforts, set in a common background ("Destiny Reach"), even though there has been little cross-over in terms of characters (other than "historical" vignettes to (re)establish the basis of the galactic political and general scientific / techonological underpinnings.
Now, off to buy the new laptop that should make the difference between getting there and getting there verifiably!
(explain mode: so far, at least 90% of my count this year has been written longhand first and then transcribed. The new laptop will allow me to increase my productivity by at least 50% when it comes to writing.)

I'm around 85K at the moment, and have barely begun. This year's novel is actually a sequel to one I wrote 100K on a couple of year's ago. I'm anticipating this being the second or third book of a huge series. It began with my main character's birth at the end of World War II, and this section of writing has brought it up to his junior year in high school, 1964.
So, to answer the question . . . finished? Not even close.

I'm at 50K, and I've gotten past the middle and am getting really, REALLY close to the climax, so yeah, I think it'll be done by the end of November. It's already closing in, and while I'll be sorry to see them go... at least I'll have a finished novel!

Well, I might be nearing an ending, but i'm not sure I'll make it by the 30th. I like my book more and more as I progress though even if it's in its rough stage. It turned out to have a more provoking theme than I thought it would. I'll have a lot to rework when I finish. That I know for sure.

I've been doing so much shoddy word work to get caught up this week, but I'm pretty sure that the plot I'm trying to roll out all over the place isn't gonna be done once I hit 50,000. Not sure if I'll have enough free time next month to finish it though. Maybe I'll do it over the Christmas break, I guess.

Mine won't be complete by a long shot. I was hoping for 65,000 words this month, which I don't think I'm going to make, and another 65,000 in December, but finishing this novel might flow over into January. Increased amounts of writing time on scientific projects at work is cutting into my time and energy for writing my fiction, but that's ok. Everything in its own time, right?
Namaste,
