It may be a little early to propose, but what with A) Nov 30 falling on a Friday, and B) Cafe Play closing early these days, what about an IHOP write-in for the last deadline hurdle?
Say, show up around dinner time or whenever, and stay until just after midnight?
IHOP in Boulder has wi-fi, of course, which is essential for last-minute word-count updates and downloading of the winner certificate! If the wi-fi should break down, we can move the party to my house.

This sounds like an excellent plan, and I will try to make it, if I can sneak away from spouse and child. God knows I have some serious scrambling to do.

If you guys're going to be there, I might have to hit up hubby and see if he'll keep the kids so I can swing by for a bit. It sounds fun, and I've been getting a lot of words out when writing with you all!

It's a date!
I note no one took me to task on the horrible, horrible pun in the subject line. IHOP "scramble," geddit? geddit? 'Cause, see, it's a breakfast place, you can get scrambled eggs there?
...nevermind. ;-)

I would like to come! I do not know how I am going to get there or where I am sleeping that night, so let me think aobut it. My spouse would support me going, just not using a SG ("stinking gasser") to get there.....
vortexae, I confess I missed the pun, but now I GET IT, OK???????? :-O

I will try to make it if I can. Not only do I have a funeral tomorrow to attend, one of the men I have been working with me passed suddenly last week Wednesday and his service is first thing Saturday morning.... So, I don't know if I can stay up half the night and be in any space to make it in to the service in any respectable manner.
I'll see what I can do... Oh and Niki, I love that pun. It sounds like a dish they serve (or should serve).

Sarah, i'm so sorry to hear that - what a terrible week for your and your family. We'll miss you, but go do what you need to do, be with your loved ones, all that necessary stuff. *hugs*
Ellen, our couches and futon are always open for late night crashers, so if you do come, please feel free to sack out with us. (That goes for pretty much everyone, but of course we would eventually run out of couch/futon space, so late-RSVPers get the floor.) Unlike the beginning of the month, the end falls on a weekend, so John and I won't be rushing off anywhere is the morning.

So, IHOP's internet isn't working at the moment. Some of us are able to slurp up the wi-fi goodness via this other random signal floating around, but it's not reliable. If "IHOP Boulder" doesn't come back up in good time, we'll be migrating to Brewing Market (providing Mongoose with a lovely sense of deja vu) where the wi-fi is reliable and NaNoers can upload their word count without panic. Hopefully.
If we leave IHOP, we'll also leave word with the host on duty.
Watch this space for details.

It's official. Mongoose, Keith, and I are at Brewing Market, the one on Baseline at Broadway ("Basemar Shopping Plaza"), which is open well past midnight. And its internet works.
