We did it! Or at least we tried!
Whether you cross the 50,000-word finish line or not, the effort deserves to be celebrated! San Diego Writers, Ink. (a nonprofit that supports local writers by offering classes, workshops and literary events) is hosting a potluck celebration for NaNoWriMo'ers and the friends and family that supported their endeavors.
Please put your creativity (should any remain!) into a potluck dish to bring to the celebration. And kindly RSVP so I order enough cake!
SD Writers, Ink is generously donating prizes and we'll have some fun surprizes planned. Come share your stories of struggle and triumph. I look forward to seeing you there!
- December 1st, Saturday
- 7:00 pm
- The Ink Spot at the Art Center Lofts
- 710 13th Street, Studio 210
Please send me your email address so I can add you to the Evite (and so I get a good headcount).

I'm also wondering if we can't get something happening at the Bondi to celebrate as well.
See you on the weekend!

I've already accepted the evite, but still need to figure out what to bring. I'll see what my Joy of Cooking book has available...
As far as the Bondi, I loved being there today, and would love to get something together there for TGIO in addition to the Ink Spot's.

Please feel welcome, whether you crossed the finish line or not. (Someone compared Nano to the Bar exam - something that can take a few tries) If you send me your email address, I'll forward you the evite.

Thanks Bettina,
If you could only see me in my pajama pants with an old Scooby Doo T-shirt, futzing and preening over the software to create those name tags you'd know the GIFT was in the JOURNEY kind of deal ;)
I was working on a VERY old laptop that can't do anything but use word without slowing down. Then I was without proper software so I used MS word, yes, I know all those graphic designers are rolling over in their graves.
Oh the pain, the horror!!!
Finally after me and my husband went through umpteen battles on how it should look we went to Kinko's and printed them off and the colors were all off. I got card stock then they charged me to cut them after I realized later I could use the cutter thingie myself, then I had to go to Joann's Fabrics to get the ribbon, only a writer would tell you this much detail.
I was like "take me now!"
I'm so happy you enjoyed my misshapen non normal name tags for winners!

Also thanks for the food, everyone, and thanks again to Writers, Ink for the prize donations. What a great evening it turned out to be! It was nice to get out and socialize with everyone.

Going Through Writing Withdrawl?
Please join us for Writing Practice every Thursday from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the LeStats Coffee House performance space (next door to the cafe on Adams Avenue under the Normal Heights sign). Sponsored by San Diego Writer's Ink, we ask for a $5 donation, the facilitator gives a writing prompt and we just write. Then read if you feel like it. No critique or feedback is given, but it's a great way to get inspired and keep up your writing habit.
It's a drop-in group that's been going for at least 2 years now. No registration required. We'd love to see you there!
For those of you with flexible schedules, we do the same thing Tuesdays from Noon to 1:00 pm in the backroom at the Grove, a knitting/bookstore at Juniper and 30th in South Park. Same format. Different prompts.
