Okay, this is a very particular writing session -- strictly for people who are still racing for that elusive 50K on the last possible night! (And, perhaps, one or two of our Word War team if they're really pushing that evening and need the fellowship.)

So yeah, the rules are -- you must be pushing to try to break 50K that night. I'm not saying you have to MAKE it (I may not), but you have to still be trying. And you have to RSVP, as I only have so much room in my apartment! I figure I can handle about 10 people or so, though table space will be VERY limited and you may want to bring those cushion desk things, TV trays, whatever might help for a writing surface. Or be okay with writing on the floor, or the coffee table. ;)

I do have wireless if necessary, and I'll try to pull together a few snacks. BYOB. And I am making this for people of legal age, in case there should be a few celebratory toasts. I ALSO have three cats, so if that's a problem for you, I apologize but their hair is definitely everywhere.

If there are enough people who want to do a separate gathering just to socialize, let us know and we can try to arrange for those folks to meet somewhere -- but this is mostly for writing, and writing, and writing.

Again, please RSVP so I know who's going to be coming!

Final Countdown Writing Session
800 Lansdowne Avenue, Toronto, ON
(Closest subway is Lansdowne, then we're about 10 minutes walk north of Bloor. You'll know our building because there's a dollar store in the front corner. Come around the back side of that building -- there are other buildings, so don't get confused, and there's a tiny 'lobby' area there. I don't know if the buzzer ever works, so just call me -- 416-737-1267 -- or sneak in with someone. I'm in unit 222.)

7 pm right up until the stroke of midnight, if that's what people need! I'll definitely be trying to write, whether I expect to pass 50K or not. Come along and we'll have a grand old time!

Legal age? Damn you, Deej! Damn you and your toasts! *shakes fist angrily*

Ah well. The rest of you can have fun.

RSVPing probably yes since I love these writing sessions and I don't know how motivated I am so I can make that last thousand words I so desperately will need .

Please note that I will accept Word War combatants, if there's room (and so far, not many people have RSVP'd). But people still trying to reach 50K have priority.

Just post in here if you think you're gonna want to come, and if there are too many definite yes votes by Friday, we'll try to arrange somewhere for the others to meet.

I'll be there! Hopefully I'll have hit 50K before that point so I'm not too stressed, but I'll want to be there regardless. (I'm also 19, btw.)

Because I can't resist:

I think next year, i will find an appropriate youtube clip for every post.

Anyway, your parties are hard core DJ. You have to be of legal age to go! That sounds like the parties all the popular kids got to go to.. and I stayed at home playing with my action figures.

What if we're word war people AND trying to reach 50k?

I won't know if I'm able to make it until Friday at 3pm. I'm on call that day.:(

It's just this one!!

And you don't have to pretend they were action figures ... we all know the signs of Barbie addiction when we see them. :P

I'm in. It's going to kill me to make 50 000, but I really want to do it. Let me know if I can bring any snacks.

Once again, I want to add that if a few Word War competitors are still writing like crazy Friday night, it's okay for them to come, too. Especially since right now there's only about four RSVPs (and myself, of course, but I've got a whole room to write in).

So, the computer I've been using died on Wednesday, taking with it about 4000 words. Master's application pressure is building (lost most recent draft of my statement of intent). So, I'm not coming tonight. I'll have to be happy with 42 000-ish words for my first NaNoWriMo attempt.

I'll still try to drop by the TGID party on Saturday to cheer for you winners.

At this point, I haven't had too many RSVPs to handle ... so if you're still writing tonight, you can come write with us.

No worries ... if you're busy, you're busy. I don't think there's any chance at this point of my making 50K, but I'm gonna try to get as far as I can tonight, then NEXT year will be the year for me to ML and finish!

Hey Thebes, did you try booting into Target mode?

And DJ, I knew I would never be part of the cool kids club. *sigh*

I'm going to have to change my yes to a maybe - unless I get a lot of words down between when I finish work at 5 and 7, I might opt to stay home, just because the travel time alone might be needed for me to actually finish. I'll let you know if I do decide to show up, though!

Is there any more room to squeeze in tonight? I'm ever so close, and will definitely be at the after party. But, just in case I can't find the right kind of writerly energy this evening, I'd like to have an alternate location.

There's plenty of room ... I don't even know if anyone is going to make it, what with the weather and all! But you may want to stay somewhere warm ...

Argh, sorry Deej.
I dearly need the travel time to keep writing to try and hit my goal. *hugs*
