My cat does not want me to finish this year. She keeps crawling into my lap every time I try to start writing, and demanding cuddles.
She is such a hussy.

Tesla and Indy should get together. This morning, while I was checking email and doing all those other just-opened-the-laptop time-wasting rituals, Indy was fliterring about elsewhere in the house. As soon as I opened the Word document to start writing, he jumps up on the couch, first rubbing his nose on my hands as I'm trying to type (as if he were trying to tickle my knuckles, so to speak...) then he crawls onto my lap, lying on my arm as I'm trying to type. He is not a nice kitty.
So I'm at Starbucks.

I've told her that she can have my desk chair if she lets me type. I'm writing on the couch. I am going to write 8000 today (I've done 2000 already in a total of 70 minutes of writing) and I promised to give her wt food if she lets me. It seems to have worked.
Ahhh, bribery.

Aren't you glad your cat isn't a boxer? Imagine a big slobbery meat head vying for space on your lap with your laptop. But I can't leave because I still have the crud. I've been in the same spot on my couch for four straight days. I think Chopper is bored.

And that is why cats are superior to dogs; you can toss a cat off a couch and know they will land on their feet, unharmed.

yay for no pets here, and kids, have a bedtime. I am pushing to finish, I have 1,000 till 50 and I don't see why I shouldn't do it tonight. I have hot tea & ice cream & the orange chocoate mints from walgreens in the freezer the way they taste best. So. I'm going back to my document :)

What? Orange chocolate mints? Are they the jelly-like orange centers? I LOVE those! Which walgreens? I am willing for my face to break out from the chocolate (dad-gum remnants of teen acne habits...at my age:) ) I will have to run there today!
----------My chihuahua is actually a lovely writing buddy. She curls up and stays quiet right beside me when the kids leave her alone. It's the kids (and hubby, if I am truthful) that I'd like to toss out right now! For some reason, my writing priorities are not their priorities... it's all subtle sabatage, but I believe I will make it!

Indy is what we call our young gelding. I'm glad he can't get into my apartment. And I'm especially glad he doesn't try to crawl into my lap.

I only have to share a house with a husband (who keeps telling to get back to writing and then comes to bounce ideas about work/MtG decks/boredom on my head) 2 live-in kids (but daddy! i don't want to clean my room!/hey can someone give me a ride?) a live-in cousin ( do you guys want to come with me to a party 2.5 hrs away from here?) and his two cats. well. One cat disappeared, but i swear i have nothing to do with that. Honest!
i wish i had a shed. or a really big bubble with internet blockers.

Coffee shops and good headphones are your friends.

Jesso I was sure that this thread was headed in a different direction. I am a little disappointed. :p
Yes, yes coffee shops (they have caffeine there you know) and headphones (that block out all the people who are determined to talk as LOUDLY as possible to distract you) are your friends. Find one that stays open as long as you can and then if they havent been open long enough move to your car with your laptop until the battery dies. Or find an all night restaurant with unlimited coffee refills like Denny's or IHOP. They don't care if you live there especially if you tip well.
