I passed the 50,000 word mark. Now I have just a few thousand more words to finish up, weeks of editing, and then I'll post it over on
http://www.fanfiction.net/~meteoricshipyards
with my other writings. (Never did finish last years story, even though I reached the 50K word goal :-(

Sorry I missed most of the write ins. It was strange, at the end a new character just showed up. I have no idea what her role will be but it is one of those things that I enjoy while writing.

Good luck everyone else!

Congratulations!

My story took a wild turn as well. I think by the time I hit 50k I'll be perhaps halfway through the story itself.

Congratulations buddy. Good job. Doesn't it feel awesome? :-)

I think you are the first person from the Rochester region to pass the finish line.

Well, there it is! I did it too! Third year in a row! Not the first, maybe not the last, but two whole days ahead of schedule, and skipping all weekends, holidays, and vacations! Not bad, not bad. I mean, if I do say so myself... :)

I don't think anyone who hasn't tried can understand how hard it is to get a few thousand words of a story out, let alone a whole novel. Excellent work! It's an impressive acheivement!

Congrats!

*grins like the kind of idiot who would dare to write 50k in one month*

Pretty purple bars! My method of celebrating is going to be walking into every one of my classes and yelling, "50k!"

Yeah... and I am probably about halfway done with the novel I really want it to be. But after a decade of saying "I'm going to write a book"... I actually have a really good one going!

Congratulations to everyone! Especially to those who I know struggled with self-doubt and uncooperative stories along the way. You pulled it of! As a certain fellow from Mypos I once knew would say, now we do the Dance of Joy!

And bringing up the rear....

Man, what a great year. I don't like the beginning of the book at all. Not at all, but from about five thousand words in, it started getting good. Now, I'm no where near the end, but I have the start of a great story. :-)

Thanks to everyone who participated again this year. Thanks for all who too part in the many write-ins and who were around in spirit. :-)

Tom
