I did it the other night but I didn't get the chance to update my word total til today. I feel pretty happy about it, but the story is really nowhere near being complete. I wont be finished with it this month, but I'm hoping to break 60k before the end. We'll see... I hope everyone else is doing well though.

It's a great feeling, isn't it. I finished in at 54,996 words. I am ecstatic. Might actually try to take my NaNo work to Dratt Two after the holidays.

Merry hi!

I hit 50K this afternoon! Yay! My "novel" needs a lot more work, but after dinkin' around with outlines and notes for the last couple of years, I'm happy to finally have a draft to work on. If there's a celebration planned somewhere in NW Tucson, let me know! I kept thinking I'd get to a write-in, but the nights I see them being held are nights I've got other things going, so I haven't managed it. I could make a party on Friday the 30th or Sunday the 2nd, but not on Saturday the 1st ....

Blessings,
Ashleen

Huzzah!

Might just have to make this our Tucson "I did it!" topic!

Congratulations to all our Tucson winners.

Congratulations to all our Tucson starters. Writing anything on a novel is more than most people will ever attempt, and whether you hit 50K in the month or not, you're ahead of the game just for deciding to do it.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. I'd love to get together for a party to commemorate the end of Nanowrimo. Only thing is I don't know if I'll have the time to go all the way down town for it. If anyone else has an idea for a party on the northwest side I'd be up for it.

Oooh, oooh, I made it to the purple bar club!! Wow! Mine needs a TON of work, and probably at least another thousand words, but for tonight I'm done! Woohoo!

I have to add that I only made it because I was able to get to some of the write-ins. I can't begin to tell you how helpful and fun that was for me!

Yay! It's not a complete story yet, but it's 50k! Hopefully I'll be able to use the habits I've developed here to finish it... hopefully. Is there an after NaNo writing program?

And a miracle occurred!

This has been the strangest NaNo ever for me. I started out just fine, did no writing for over a week in the middle, determined to catch up in the final week, got food poisoning Monday night which pretty much eliminated doing anything Monday or Tuesday but, just when I thought there was no hope at all, we got told we could leave work at 4 o'clock today. So, with 8 hours before midnight, I had to give it a try.

And I did it! You have no idea how good it feels to have won this year.
