So who's screwed?

-raises hand-

my excuse is missing thursday-sunday due to work and schoolies, I literally didn't have a second spare. I was behind then, and now I'd need 4k+ a day... I'm a pretty slow writer it seems, and work 6hrs a day all week. I'm screwed! Won't stop trying though. In fact, I don't think I'll stop til I hit 50k anyway.

Try to write whenever there is a free chance. Short bursts often add up over the course of the day. Don't despair there are others in the same position. Look around the boards for sprints and see if you can join those.

Good Luck!

Great advice - and it works for me when I can't get the time to write at night. I sneak a few minutes here and there, sometimes popping a five minute spint into an email and sending it home to myself. This year, over half my novel has been written whilst at write ins or sitting in a coffe shop by myself, with my best effort being Friday night at the bakery and getting over 8K down.
Nabbing a piece of advice someone else from Adelaide forums posted earier this month - they pop into the toilets at work and steal a few minutes to get a few words down on paper. SImilarly, if on public transport, keep a little notepad and write what you can.
I find when you type up handwritten words, they flow more freely and you can fly through your word count. You can do it, but still, very admirable that you aren't going to stop until you hit the 50K! Keep going!

I'm screwed. I'm about sixteen days behind. I'm trying my hardest - if I can write 10000 words a day for the next three days, I win.

Well, I'm not screwed...
But I seriously thought I was about a week ago. I decided to quit nano all together because it sucks.

Then I started doing all the kind of things that have been mentioned in here
Wrote when I had a few spare minutes, even thought I didn't have many
At one of the write ins Chooky told me to write it on paper then type it up later, I have so many bits of paper flying around my room now!

Just pretend you're a rabbit
That's got nothing to do with writing, but it is fun =D

Glad I could help.
I have a note book that is full of half started scenes from my book. Generally they are about 4 pages long, because that's how much I can write in the bus trip to and fro work, plus my lunch. And then when I type it up from there, so I normally finish that scene.

I'm just finding that I need to spend some time writing when I'm not going to be disturbed, and by writing 30 minutes at a time I don't get a chance to get in 'The Zone'. Here's hoping I can tonight at Glenelg.
