I'm determined to keep writing until my story is done, though, and that may be through January (I think I just crested the halfway point in the plotline).
The last three words of my novel are "To Be Continued." There are openings for two more novels. I'd like to keep writing forever.
Is there any NaNoWriMo like structure that can help keep writers connected, inspired, and motivated?

At the very least, there is National Novel Finishing Month (http://www.nanofimo.org/), which is in December. And then there's National Novel Editing Month, http://www.nanoedmo.net/xoops/ , which is in March.
Other than that-- I'd recommend trawling Livejournal for communities dedicated to doing things similar to NaNo. I'm pretty sure I've heard of people who do it in the summer, etc. Ask me tomorrow sometime and I'll go looking myself, if you want. (First I've got to finish my word count tonight.)
Congrats on hitting 50,000, btw. :)

Also, speaking of livejournal, you may want to check out this: http://community.livejournal.com/our_eloquence/profile -- once the month is over. It's an empty community at the moment, but in December they will start doing shorter NaNo-like challenges. The original post describing what they're thinking of doing is here: http://community.livejournal.com/nanowrimo/1693468.html
