Can I still be a "writer" if I use that new software to dictate things onto my word processor?
Just wondering.

Certainly you can still consider yourself a "writer." Look at it this way ... in the late 19th century, typewriters meant people weren't using pen or pencil and paper, but they were still considered writers. In the late 20th century, computers, for the most part, replaced typewriters, but people who produced words using computers were still considered writers.
It's just another technological advancement, but as long as the result is words that people are intended to read (even if in electronic form and not on paper), you are a writer.
