So, as November 2007 draws to a close, I'm wondering who's planning on being back for next year.
For my part, I'm glad that next year, November 1st is a Saturday. I like to get a good head start on day one and starting on a Thursday really threw me this year. I've got three potential novel ideas -- one Feldaine book, one Melbourne Magic book, and one other book which is kind of about politics and drugs and power struggles, but is set in the future. I've been trying to write it for about ten years and think I need the NaNo kick to get it going.

I'll be back of course ... I live each year waiting for Nano ^^ And I have an idea, but I think I might try and write it before November, for a change.

I think the Melbourne Magic book (The Flutterby Effort, which is the sequel to my 2006 novel The Whole Banana) might have to be written during the year too... I was planning on writing it for this year's NaNo but then the idea for The Fear Collectors came to me and I just had to drop everything and go with it because it was so different and interesting. Fortunately my muse for The Flutterby Effort doesn't mind waiting an extra year!

hell yeah i am coming back for more. I love this stuff man!
I might have to venture back to my melbourne based urban fantasy... leave my sci-fi 'verse in a bottle...
..unless i choose to write it 'tween times.

Wow. I'll definately be back for next year but I do need to exhale from the experience of 2007 and not think about NaNo for a while. You guys are insane! And highly motivated! Good on ya!

I'm definitely going to be back next year! I didn't know how much fun NaNo could be, so I'm definitely coming back next year. I'm even aiming to get over 100k next year. Aim high! NaNo is so awesome, I think this is going to become an almost yearly ritual to me. Though, I have no idea what my novel will be next year, and I'd rather not know. Spur of the moment inspiration worked for me this year, so I have a feeling it will do the same next year. :) I hope to see all of you again next year too, because its been the community, especially on the IRC *plug* thats made this nano so memorable to me. I lost my nano virginity in a very great way this year.
And also, thanks to everyone who has made me feel so very welcome, especially on the IRC channel. You are all incredibly awesome people, to name a few, Lola, 1863, trip, Scarlett Archer, vamp, strawpony, wonderdog and a few others who I think I might have forgotten *hangs head in shame* *hugs all*
And hopefully there will be more memorable wolf ripping moments next year! :)

i'll definitely be back, especially since a plot bunny bit me mid-way through this nano to tell me about what i should write next year...

Well duh... of COURSE! :)
It'll be six years for me next year. Which is longer than the amount of time I've spent in any job, in high school, or on any other web-based thing (with the exception of LJ). It's nearly as long as I've been in the longest relationship I've been in.
And even if I went, "Nope, stuff it," I'm sure the NaNoPeople from Melbourne would talk me into it. :)

Hmm...much as I loved the experience and the comradeship and gained so much from doing it, the schedule for my next year truly scares me. My jury is out, though if I had even half the chance, I would take it.
Novelling to me is a guilty pleasure, one that takes me away from caring about the other people in my life. They, in turn, must endure my endless vagaries about the universe I craft, regardless of whether they can join it or not, and meanwhile I neglect those who sustain me.
What I do hope to take from this is new contacts and friends with whom I can keep in touch with throughout the year. That way, you guys just might talk me into giving NaNo '08 a burl ;)

Duh! Course I'll be back. Weekends aren't so good for me - but we'll see how things pan out.
No idea at present - but I'll think of one. I always do... It'll come probably in about a month.
:)

I always go back and forth between maybe, maybe not. Each year I have a different, new goal and this year I considered doing only 1667 words per day. Perhaps next year I'll give it a whirl!

Well considering I only decided to join NaNo 07 like 6 days before it started SURE I'LL BE BACK! Though in all hoensty I think I'll leave the planning what I want to write for a while. I can't fathom thinking about a new plot just yet, I want to go back and do a few fix ups on In A Heartbeat before I move onto the next idea.
I've always wanted to be published in a book in a book store by the time I was 30. I've seven years to go, fit in a couple more NaNos in there and I'll be laughing!!
Look forward to seeing you all next year and next year I plan to really get into it, give these word wars a go (hopefully I won't have such a crappy laptop at home) and maybe even get out to a few gatherings of various descriptions. And meet a few more NaNo peeps than I have so far :-)

I'll definitely be back. I experienced instant addiction, and had a great month. What about Script Frenzy? I see that they've moved it to April - is anyone else going to sign up for that as well?

I am a little dubious aabout coming back next year. I mean, yes, i certainly want to, but i finished for the first time this year, after six official entries, and only three official writes, on my seventh official entry, and fourth official write, I actually won, and i feel good, and I like to think it is a sort of maturing thing, i did it this year cos i am older and more committed, and I think if i failed next year it would be a little insulting to that belief....
Anyway, dubious, but I wont say I wont be here!
Happy NaNoWrriMo for the last time everyone, and I hoe everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Years!! (both or either depending on your beliefs)

I will definitely be back for 2008!
This was my first NaNoWriMo and even though I spent the whole month running around flapping my arms and making noises like a ye olde boiling kettle I did something I never thought I would do and am beyond stoked :-)

Anyone else noticed the concentration of Winners around here? ^_^
As for me, I'll definitely be back. Azikahari is shaping up to be a lengthy series of books, and I can probably start each one on NaNo, just to squeeze it out and then work on it later.

Even though i failed miserably this year... yes i do plan on coming back next year. it was fun while it lasted, and next year all ill be aiming for will be to beat this years word-count first. the 50,000 will have to come after that...
those on mIRC helped me push out almost 3000 words this year doing word wars.... so ill be joining those again as well.....

I will most definately be back, and hopefully I can get more involved in the community this year - buggering off to Canberra in the second week didn't really help me in building up the friendships and such I was hoping for.

I don't know, really :D
I may just forget about this place before November.
I failed horribly, of course, I have no intentions of winning however as Year 9 will be eating all of my time
But we'll see.
I loved what I was writing this year and I do want to continue it next year, but I don't think that's allowed D:. 'Tis a shame, since I really liked it.
EDIT- Oh, and I'm not back for Script Frenzy in April. I'm not confident enough to even attempt that really.
