Who else is, like me, at the end of the month with not even 10,000 words to show for it? i cam into the month fairly strong. Had my plos perfectly outlined and everything. Then when i actually started to write it all went down hill. Within 200 words a new character walked into the scene as my FMC's boyfriend, the setting had changed and so had most of the plot. So i was stuck. Plotting while writing doesnt work for me. Clearly.
So who else, like me failed miserably... but had fun doing it?

Before anyone replies to this thread, please keep writing until midnight. You might still fail, but at least it won't be miserably.
And that includes you, lyrical_liar. You can still hit that 10k, so get cracking!

Actually
I don't think anyone loses...only those who look around at us who write and say. "One day I'm going to write a novel. When I have the time."
Anyone who signs up for Nano and gives it a shot is a winner in my books.
We all know there's no such thing as having the time to write. There never is. We make our time...sometimes at the expense of othe things, and people including family.
I think all who don't make the fifty k mark shouldn't be fussed as we are just serving our apprentiship in the craft of writing.

Well, I failed but I suppose I didn't fail miserably. I eventually got to 44,000. I lost my entire last weekend due to doing my best impression of the undead so I think I accepted I wasn't going to make it when I wasn't able to motivate myself to write until Wednesday. (Didn't help that my enthusiasm for my plot went out the window on the weekend as well.)
Still, 44,000 isn't too bad. I'll take that as a total for a month when I had a few interruptions and problems. I do however have two more plot ideas that have been sitting in the back of my head, slowly growing all month. I may have to investigate them now that NaNo is over.

Yup, I failed miserably. I didn't even bother to update my word count in the end cos I just knew I was heading down hill. Won last year, next year too!

Failed in the sense that I didn't finish, but won in the sense that I've gotten the furthest I ever have with NaNo, so great sense of achievement there, and I have you guys (in particular Scarlett and her write-in's!) to thank for it ^_^

And you think YOU failed miserably.
