At least in July I wouldn't have to interrupt a lovely writing session with something as mundane as work. Drat work (gives work a dirty look for getting in the way of Nano-ing). I'd be game.

The fourms stay up year round (or at least until Sep or so) so we can keep up with each other here. I wouldn't mind trying for a monthly write-in starting in Jan. I think it is helpful to keep writing all year long and then there is ScriptFrenzy in April and we could do a NaNo in July (the teen forum MangyCat leads already does that, we call is SuNo for Summer Noveling!).

Just keep watching the forums and post if you all want to get together!

Anybody up for something a little more crazy, still in July probably? Last summer, me, Goerge, A Grilled Fish, and a friend got together for 72 hours of writing mayhem (with incorporated sleep). We will almost assuredly be doing another one of those this coming summer. You are are welcome to join us, and hopefully we can make it fall in July. We usually have to work around a bunch of schedules. What we have done in the past is to start at 8 AM one day and write through three days worth of time until 8 AM. Last year, three of us (me, Goerge, and A Grilled Fish) managed to finish. (the friend had scheduling conflicts and only attended half of the event, writing the according number of words). We wrote, talked about love, and took walks in the wee hours of the morning. Then, on the very last day, we finished and when out to read Harry Potter (which came out that day, hehehe). If it works out for you all, we'd love to see more people join us!

And if it falls in June, well....there's no harm in writing another novel in July.

I'd like to try it but maybe have one for guys and a seperate one for girls since, well, parents might not like it if it wasn't, but during the day we'd all get together. And we could always do write-ins in parks to, since that would be nice, but wait, Narniaprincess you mentioned something about Mangycat and a summer nano, how can I find out more about it?

Yes, yes, seperate of course. We've tried to convince some people of the opposite gender to do it before (via im), but they didn't show much interest in the lack of sleep aspect :)
And as for meetings in parks...definately! Especially if those meetings occur late at night, those are the most fun :)

But as for the unofficial NaNo in July, I am in regardless of whether or not the 72 hour novel thing fits in it. After all, my plans set me up as having very little to do in the way of writing that month right now.

Oh, late at night, great idea, or even better, they could start at 6:00 and we could have a picnic and then start writing!

definitly, I really need to get out of the habit of staying up really late, at least until swim seasons over, and I need to stop pulling all nighters thursday nights just because it's easier!!! yeah, I know, I'm weird, oh well...^^
