For the first ever time doing Nano, I actually COMPLETED my story! I've "finished" the 50k every single time, but the stories have always been incomplete, unfinished. This year, I actually have a completed novel!

:D

ps. My real wordcount is finally up.

Congratulations. That's wonderful that you did that in a month.

Mine wasn't even a novel... I started out writing a novel, but it didn't work, and about a fifth of the way through the word count, I just did what I did in '05 and wrote random autobiographical crap. It might not count as a novel, but it's what I wrote, and I won.

Thanks ^^ All my previous attempts were over 50k, but it's so satisfying to finally be able to say that I finished the whole thing.

But getting to 50k at all is still a damn big achievement!

Congrats again :)
Here is something to perhaps inspire you for next year : I'll laugh as your fingers fall off - only cos I'm mean.
My sister came in and woke me up this morning.
I'm allowed to be mean.
...
Anyway - Straw showed me that profile last night ... I think eyebrows were raised.
*headdesk* I don't really recall though - it was very late - or early I should say.
Anyway, Congrats again. :) And thanks for helping push me over the line.

p.s. Have you been to slap the Northern Territories ML? lol

I really, really would like to know how you pulled off 183k. How many hours a day did you dedicate to writing?

I was experimenting this year with applying last year's word war theory: Only ever writing in 20 minute blocks, then taking breaks (usually ten minutes.) since IRC went so well with word wars for everyone, and I got so far, I guess it really does work well.

Edit: Just over 84 hours writing total (but there were break times on top of that.)

Spreadsheet for the month of time spent, etc:

That's one very cool spreadsheet, 1863.

(whistles respectfully in geekish admiration...)
