I finished two days ago because I mistakenly thought that yesterday was the 30th. (I'm very spacey these days...) Anyway, I'm relieved, and I can't believe I actually did it. This year was harder than last year in many ways, and it was difficult for me to justify making the time commitment. I found writing the novel immensely therapeutic.
I met a group of moms for a playdate this morning, and I actually forgot that I finished the novel. I guess I'm still in shock. ;)
Hope to meet you at the Wrap-up Party!
Congratulations on finishing!

I just finished with only a couple of hours to spare. Huge push at the end, but it feels great. Thanks, pinkmochi for posting a few words of encouragement. Every little bit helps!

I won! :-)
In spite, or perhaps because of technical difficulties.
My motivation was flagging, but my response to my computer ceasing to function was "I didn't lose much and there's no way that's going to stop me."
So I did it. :-) And there might be something to this book. It has horrible parts, but it seems not bad overall. This is a shocking and encouraging development.

I made it last night. Was going to go to sleep, but then was full of creative energy and just had to. I've spent most of today in shock.

Well I did mange to get over 50K my word coun validation is off on here and I'm not sure why but my word doc is at 50,086 so I'm good and proud of myself. I did over 7500 words today to finish this thing. I really need to go to sleep now because I have to get up and drive to Montery in the morning and I'm tired. But I'm so proud of myself for actually acomplishing a goal. Ok going to bed now. Good work everyone.

I am! I am teh win!
I was lagging for most of the third week and fell heinously behind (will NEVER do that again). I was feeling pretty defeated a couple days ago and this morning I said "Screw it! I'm writing!"
I had 36,300ish words at 9:30 am and by 11:30 pm I had 50,155 words. I consider that some serious novel writing triumph.
This was my second year and my second win so I'm excited.
Sadly I wasn't able to get out and go to any write-ins this year. My schedule was absurd, coupled with work, illness, a root canal, and my grandmother recovering from a stroke, this year's win was especially sweet. :)
I hope to see all of you at the TGIO party at Saturn tomorrow. Who's going to be there?

Yeah!
SC did pretty well! Go us! Go us! Go us!
I won, although Im still writing, lol. 50k was just too short, hehe. Up to 60k now, and think Ive got at least 10 or 20 more to go until the story is all told out. Luckily its all action, so it should flow pretty easy for me. Im thinking Ill actually be "done" writing in another week or two.
Gratz to all who made it, and good job trying for those that didn't. It is better to have tried and come close than never to have set foot upon the journey at all.
Peace,
