I've had a few family issues and such and have not updated my count since thanksgiving.. so now I'm left with no accurate count :(
I didn't make it anywhere near where I'd hoped, so it's not that big of a deal.. but I do know I will be pursuing publication and I appreciate everyone who gave advice, encouragement and camaraderie.. this is truly a unique, inspiring and confidence-building experience.
Congrats on all who made it.. I'll be back next year :)

I think that you can manually input your count even after the cutoff. YOu just can't be validated as a winner.
If you are still working on your book, I encourage you to join us at NaNoFiMo- where we are all going to go finish our Novels!

The most likely explanation for this is that you have your timezone set incorrectly in your profile, so the server thought that you were already past midnight.
This is usually caused by daylight saving measures that come into play around the end of October and people forget to adjust their timezone accordingly.
Not much help now, I know, but at least you'll know for next year. :-)
