Short one this time, as we all recover from repetitive strain injuries, square eyes and hangovers.

Just to say:

A MASSIVE MASSIVE MASSIVE WELL DONE TO EVERYONE

Scanning through the forums, the numbers of purple bars this year is incredible! Virtually everyone on these forums has finished the 50,000 (<- I like writing it like that, it looks so much more than "50k") and I know there are a few others affiliated with Jolly Darlo who have finished as well. That is an awesome achievement and you should all be righteously proud of yourselves!!

Even if you didn't make it to the finish line, you have still achieved something amazing. Merely attempting this feat of insanity shows a strength of character and a degree of bravery which few others can ever boast.

And, ok, so Darlington didn't win the Word Wars, but I do think we deserve special recognition - all six of us, that is, every member of the Darlington team completed the 50k. And given this is the first time we've entered, that is impressive. More so because this is the first year Darlington has been a region in its own right. Next year, Word War Fame beckons, I'm sure.

N'Oscars Ceremony tonight should be fantastic, I am looking forward to meeting you all. This year I promise not to fall out of my dress so spectacularly either!!

So, what now??? If anyone is like me, I feel FLAT now. Nanowrimo takes so much of your time, energy and headspace for so long that when it's over, I am lost and empty.

To this end, Jo and I (Jo = Hysteresiscure on here) have formed RASC - Random Acts of Senseless Creativity. This is a writing group, designed to act as a catalyst for creativity. It doesn't have to be novels - any form of written words, poems, lyrics, scripts, blogs etc. You can even come along to edit and finish your novels! We hope that meeting in a group will get inspirational juices flowing, its a forum to voice ideas amongst fellow writers, but with no pressure, and no boundaries! It also gives people the opportunity to meet and write in a community like this, that lasts a little longer than one month a year.

We will meet once a week in the Darlington Arts Centre cafe, starting after the new year. Please email me at llama_eyes@yahoo.co.uk if you are interested in coming along. We can send more details once our brains have stopped hurting and we can think about it properly.

Good luck with all future writing endeavours, and I hope to see you all signing up again for next year's attempt! (This is assuming I survive Monday morning, I have to go see my university supervisor and explain quite why I haven't done any work at all for the past month...)

Congratulations again, and I love you all (gush gush)
Bel
