We're going to try something different next year. DFW is a big area, and traffic has a tendency to wreak havoc on my word count. So, I have a plan...

I would love to be your Municipal Liaison next year, if you will have me, but I think the best way to serve the spread-out areas represented in this forum is for me to have minons -AHEM!- I mean "area liaisons."

What is an area liaison, you ask?

Let me tell you...

An Area Liaison is a very special person who volunteers to organize write-ins in his or her area. Many of you are already doing this... I've either been ot write-ins you've organized, or seen your name pop up repeatedly in the forums. You wouldn't be doing anything different than what you are doing now! Pick a time and a coffee shop, post your write-in, and voila! You're an AL!

I'd take care of the Kick-Off, the mid-month Write-A-Thon, and the TGIO. I figured the best way to handle these events is to alternate areas - say, have the Kick-Off in Ft. Worth, the Write-A-Thon in the MidCities, and the TGIO in Dallas, then switch locations the following year. That way the driving is equally spread out... or as equally as we can make it, at least...

So... feedback? Volunteers?

:) Criss.

You can count on me to be quite involved for next year. :) I suppose my "area" is the east side of Dallas, but I wrote a lot at the Half Price Books on Northwest Highway this year, and plan to continue writing there twice a month begining in January. So it wouldn't be hard for me to handle the write-in planning in that area next NaNo. I can also help you with some of the planning for the Kick-off, Write-a-thon (which I think we should REALLY push for next year, it seems like such a cool idea, and I'm really sorry I had to miss it. I'm going to tell my kids' dad RIGHT NOW that he has them on the middle weekend in November next year! lol), and the TGIO.

~counting down the days til next NaNo~

Not sure if this area is too specific, but I'll be doing events again up here in Denton next year.
I'll at least be posting stuff, but I realize that this is kind of a weird place to do any major events for the region tho.

I'd love to be the AL for the Farmers Branch/Addison area. I organized a lot of write-ins in that area this past November and can surely do it again next November.

Yay!

Dallas and the MidCities (Arlington and HEB, so far) look well-represented - how about anyone on the west/Ft. Worth side?

I plan on being back next year, so if you need help in Arlington, I'll do what I can.
